The art of packing light: creating your perfect capsule travel wardrobe

Are you guilty of overpacking when you go away travelling? Most of us are, when you love fashion, it’s so easy to get carried away with clothing- especially when we’re travelling to a climate that allows us to have fun with our look in ways that we can’t always do at home. However, if you want to keep things more simple, avoid excess baggage costs or save space in your suitcase for holiday purchases, then there are some steps you can take to slim down your case without having fewer outfits. The capsule wardrobe allows you to use every piece you take to its best potential, and despite bringing fewer articles of clothing, you still get a huge mixture of different outfits. Here are some ways you can go about it.

Buy puffer padded winter jackets/coats but consider this

It is winter season and the cold isn't so friendly. Of all the recent coat designs in the last 5 years, I will say puffer coats are the best. They are so warm and still gives you a chic look. I love to wear comfortable fashionable coats during winter but most times pretty coats are light and not so covered. Puffer coats and teddy coat do the job. Some puffer coats are waterproof and they are very durable.

Puffer jackets feel like you are wrapped inside a duvet and you just go out with such a warm feeling. When purchasing puffer jackets/coats here are things to consider.

1. Buy one size bigger (The bigger the better).

2. Buy puffer coats with bigger collars. (Hoodies).

3. Buy puffer coats with long length (Maxi puffer coat cover more).

4. Black puffer coats are more versatile.

5. Cropped puffer coats are fashionable but what about your lower body parts.

Visit to Gidan Makama Museum Kano state, Nigeria

Gidan Makama Museum which is also known as Kano Museum is a museum in Kano, Nigeria. I enjoyed visiting this place, we weren't allowed to take photos in specific places. There are different artworks from centuries. I also learnt about how the British people invaded the north. The building served as the temporary palace of Kano before the current palace Gidan Rumfa was constructed in the 15th century.

The museum has a significant collection of arts, crafts and items of historic interest related to the Kano area. Located in a 15th-century historical building, which is recognised as a National Monument by the Government of Nigeria. The museum is divided into 11 galleries, each with their own centre of focus. Galleries include the Zaure or the main entrance hall with displays of traditional materials, city walls and maps of Kano, the history of statehood, Kano in the 19th century, the Civil War, economy, industry and music.

Entrance fee: 100 naira
No photos allowed inside the museum.
