Converting Decimals to Fractions and Vice Versa

The process of conversion of decimals to fractions and fractions to decimals will help you a lot while solving sums from varied topics of mathematics. These conversions are employed in almost all the chapters of mathematics and hence it becomes very important that we learn about these conversions very nicely. Before understanding the process of conversion, let us understand briefly fractions and decimals. A fraction can be defined as a number represented in the form of p/q where q is not equal to zero. We use fractions in our real life, knowingly or unknowingly. Examples of it can be one-fifth of the glass of water, three fourth of the cake, etc. Decimals on the other hand are a different method of presentation of fractions on a number line. Their forms are different, however, they are one and the same.

How Do You Convert Decimals to Fractions?

Converting decimals to fractions is very easy. Let us see how.

  • We will write down the given decimal divided by 1. Example: 0.85/1

  • Now, the operation of multiplication will be carried out on both the numerator and the denominator by 10 for every number after the decimal point. For example: in 0.85 there are two numbers after the decimal. Thus, it will be multiplied by 100.

  • After multiplication, we will get 85/100. Reduce 85/100 to its simplest form.

  • The required answer will be 17/20.

How Do You Convert Fractions into Decimals?

The process of converting fractions to decimals is very easy. Three methods can be employed in the process of converting fractions to decimals. Let us check out all three methods:

With the help of a Calculator: Let us take an example to see how this can be done. We need to convert 9/4 into decimal. We will press 9 on the calculator and then press the division sign. After pressing the divide sign, we will press 4 and then hit equal to. We will get the answer as 2.25 which is the decimal form.

Children, especially those in their early years, should see a doctor on a frequent basis to maintain optimal development. Teenagers and adults, too, require regular attention. If you have to switch doctors every time your child outgrows a practice, this might make scheduling and record transfer difficult. A family medicine doctor can serve numerous roles in your family, including that of a pediatrician, and can care for everyone from babies to the elderly.

Pediatricians are indeed important

Most people can choose to go to the doctor as needed, but children rely on their parents to take them to the doctor for well-child and sick-child visits, and they should go at least twice a year, if not more frequently. Infants should see a doctor every two months until they reach one, and then after attaining the following milestones for crucial immunizations and health checks.

Between 15 and 18 months
Years 2 and 2.5 years
3 to 3.5 years old
4 and 4.5 years of age
Ages 5 and 5.5 years
6 years, then every year after that

Although your child's appointments may become more spaced out as they become older, annual check-ups are always essential. This aids your doctor in creating a medical record for your kid, tracking their health as they grow and develop, and ensuring that their vaccines are up to date to protect their health. Having a regular pediatrician helps your child get more comfortable with the doctor-patient connection, reducing anxiety and fostering a positive rapport.

Running your business from the proverbial “bedroom” can be a lot of fun. Plus, if you happen to live in a crowded East Asian city where commercial rental prices are high, it’s often your only choice.

There’s just one problem: many people won’t take you seriously. They’ll wonder why you’re sitting on your bed telephoning them in your pajamas instead of going suited and booted to the office every morning.

The good news is that you can get around this issue. It’s really not as hard as you think. In fact, thousands of businesses all over Hong Kong are doing it right now. Here’s what to do:

Be The Person Who’s A Little Different

Before you even think about your business, it’s a good idea to look inward at yourself. Ask yourself, what traits, talents, or characteristics can you bring to the table that will encourage customers to do business with you. Are you the consultant who can make them laugh? Are you the fund manager who is always there to take weekend calls? Are you the courier that they can ring up any time of the day or night?

If you’re running a business from your bedroom, you want to do things that make that fact irrelevant. Carve yourself a niche where aesthetics don’t matter. Create real value and the customers will come flooding in.

What is Omicron?

The Omicron variant of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, is a variant of SARS-CoV-2. It was initially reported to the World Health Organization on 24 November 2021 by South Africa. The WHO identified it as a variation of concern on 26 November 2021, renaming it "Omicron," the fifteenth letter in the Greek alphabet.

WHO has designated the Omicron variation of COVID-19 as a variant of concern due to evidence that it contains numerous mutations that may affect how it acts. There is still considerable mystery around Omicron, and extensive study is being conducted to determine its transmissibility, severity, and risk of reinfection.

What is the Omicron variant?

The COVID-19 pandemic has wrought profound changes in ordinary life — and even in the medical community. Not only are clinicians postponing elective procedures across the country, but many are also recommending patients to forgo in-office appointments to minimize their risk of exposure to this extremely contagious coronavirus.

However, what if you still require health care? Telehealth, fortunately, can assist.

Virtual Healthcare in Action

Telehealth — or telemedicine — is a type of healthcare that enables you to consult with your doctor online rather than in person.

Additionally, Telehealth enables you to:

Prepare a list of your medications, allergies, identification cards, and medical history in advance.

Communicate with others or share images illustrating your symptoms.

Prescriptions can be electronically transmitted to your pharmacy.

Securely pay for your virtual visit online.

Originally, this streamlined technique was developed to aid in the expansion of medical care to men, women, and children living in distant locations. Today, 76 percent of hospitals use Telehealth technology, and US employers might save up to $6 billion each year by allowing their employees to use telemedicine. Notwithstanding, the benefits of virtual healthcare go beyond financial savings.

Changes in the seasons and blood pressure

Q. My blood pressure is usually within the normal range, except in the winter. Do  Seasons have an effect on blood pressure?

A. Seasons does have an effect on blood pressure. During the winter, some patients with borderline hypertension experience elevated blood pressure readings. And their blood pressure can rise to dangerous levels, necessitating medication to maintain control. They may be able to lessen the dosage in the spring or discontinue the medicine entirely in the summer.

The predominant idea for increased blood pressure in colder temperatures is that it is caused by artery tension. When our bodies become chilly, blood vessels constrict to retain heat. This can result in an increase in blood pressure in certain individuals. However, additional things may contribute to your elevated winter blood pressure. For instance:

WHAT IS A KNEE SPRAIN?

A sprain of the knee occurs when the ligaments, tough bands of fibrous tissue that connect the upper and lower leg bones at the knee joint, are injured. The knee joint is held together by four main ligaments.

The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and the posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) form a pattern like "X" inside the knee joint, stabilizing it against front-to-back and back-to-front forces. Typically, the ACL sprains after one of the following knee movements: a rapid stop; a twist, pivot, or change in direction at the joint; excessive extension (hyperextension); or a direct hit to the outside of the knee or lower leg. These type of sports injuries is quite prevalent among athletes such as footballers, basketballers, soccer players, rugby, wrestling, gymnastics, and skiing athletes.

The posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) works in conjunction with the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) to maintain the stability of the knee. It most frequently sprains as a result of a direct blow to the front of the knee, such as colliding with the dashboard in a car accident or landing hard on a bent knee when participating in sports. PCL injuries are most prevalent in athletes that participate in football, basketball, soccer, and rugby.

Medial collateral ligament (MCL) – The MCL runs down the internal side of the leg, supporting the knee. As is the case with the ACL, the MCL can be torn by a straight sideways impact to the outside of the knee or lower leg, as occurs in football, soccer, hockey, and rugby. The MCL can be torn after a serious knee twist while skiing or wrestling, most notably when the lower leg is twisted outwards, away from the upper leg, following a fall.

Lateral collateral ligament (LCL) – The LCL provides support for the knee's lateral side. This ligament is the least probable knee ligament to be sprained. This is because the majority of LCL injuries occur as a result of a blow around the inside of the knee, which is typically protected by the opposing leg.

Just like other types of injuries, knee sprains are also graded

Vitamin D deficiency is widely known as a risk factor for bone disorders such as rickets in children and osteoporosis in adults. However, it may also increase your risk of having a heart attack or dying prematurely.

Vitamin D deficiency is defined by the Endocrine Society as a blood level of fewer than 20 nanograms per milliliter (ng/mL), whereas vitamin D sufficiency is defined as a blood level of 21 to 29 ng/mL. The optimal concentration is between 30 and 100 ng/mL.

Researchers identified 19,092 adults who failed at least two vitamin D tests and had never had a heart attack in a study published in October 2021 in The Journal of the Endocrine Society. Each person was assigned to one of three groups. Individuals in group A did not get treatment, and their blood levels remained less than 20 ng/mL. Vitamin D supplementation increased the levels of vitamin D in group B to between 21 and 29 ng/mL. Individuals in group C received sufficient supplements to boost their levels to 30 ng/mL or above.
If your body mass index (BMI) is 25 or above, you should begin screening for prediabetes and diabetes every three years at age 35, rather than at age 40, according to an updated recommendation from the United States Preventive Services Task Force. It is hoped that screening these individuals at a younger age may detect more cases of prediabetes and diabetes earlier, thereby averting some of the disease's worst consequences. According to the CDC, approximately 13% of adults in the United States have diabetes, while another 34.5 percent have prediabetes.

What is the one thing that every person would wish to get? A gift. Gifting your loved ones with something unique can help build your bond and make them feel special. However, it can be hard to buy a present for someone, especially if you don't know what they want.

But it's not impossible. Today, you will learn how to choose the best gift for your loved one. Read on.
Once you have picked the right gift, get them some flowers, and cake alongside.

Choose Quality over Quantity

It's better to buy a great gift than buy loads of mediocre gifts. You'll know if the person has something they want or need, so don't purchase it for them unless you're sure that this is what they will appreciate most from their friends and family. If you don’t know what they want, it's better to ask rather than spend money on something they don't like.

Consider Buying Diamond Jewelry

You may want to consider buying diamond jewelry for your loved one. Diamond jewelry is a timeless and elegant gift anyone would love to have, regardless of age or interest.

Diamonds are beautiful because they retain the sparkle from when they were first mined hundreds of years ago - this makes them incredibly unique as there will never be another exactly like it. You may want to consider buying VVS diamonds that have excellent quality.

Returns

We have all had the unfortunate experience where what we have purchased doesn't fit or we simply don't like it. Things become a bit more tricky if you don't understand the returns policy for the item you have purchased online.

Ensure that before you press the ‘buy’ button, there is a 100% return guarantee and that there are no exceptions. Look for at least a 30-day return policy and that your consumer rights will not be affected.

After that, legitimate jewelry stores may offer an extended 45-day return policy to ensure that their customers are delighted with their purchases.

Why does hope matter?

From the delicate relationships that connect us with one another to the ever-present fragility we share as humans in a chaotic environment, our lives are eternally immersed in the prospect of catastrophe.

Bad things – Tragic things that are extremely frequent like accidents, illness, and early death happen to individuals on a daily. We know this, yet we are tasked with finding ways of going forward in a world where nothing is assured.

But how? Mainly, we find ways to confront the fear of life’s hazards with hope: an aspirational feeling that conditions can improve, that we can continue, that there is at least as much good in the world as terrible.

What hope accomplishes for us

The concept of hope is low-hanging fruit for the pop culture and even politics: not long ago, one US president was born in the town of Hope, and another ran on it. But hope is also beginning to demonstrate its significance in scientific investigations. Greater levels of hope are associated with increased coping, well-being, and engagement in healthy activities amongst young adults with chronic illnesses. Additionally, it protects you from getting depressed or committing suicide. Among youth, hope is related to health, quality of life, self-esteem, and a sense of purpose. It is a key aspect for developing both maturity and resilience.

Fortunately, such benefits continue into later life, as the likelihood of calamity increases. Our bodies frequently fail us. We may encounter setbacks in life, such as the loss of employment, relationships, or family members. If our early problems are frequently tied to growing and developing into healthy adults, later life can be viewed as a period of self-consolidation and acceptance, even while the physical body deteriorates and circumstances deteriorate.

Hope is both a shield and a guide.

Hope can be an especially effective shield against the fear associated with a chronic or life-threatening illness. It does not have to be focused on a cure to be beneficial, but those objectives are alluring. Rather than that, a person's hope — even when confronted with a terminal illness — can be directed toward joy or comfort. It can be developed and directed toward specific goals, such as seeing grandchildren or attending a child's wedding. It can be discovered in times of serenity: what is contentment if not an acceptance of the possibility of good in our lives, even in challenging situations?

Finally, hope can provide us with an opportunity to digest seemingly insurmountable occurrences. A major setback in life, a traumatic accident, a vigil held during a relative's final days in the critical care unit, or even our own final months living with a There are numerous instances in which hope for comfort or respite serves as a bridge between stages of a fatal condition. Fortunately, such benefits continue into later life, as the likelihood of calamity increases. Our bodies frequently fail us. We may encounter setbacks in life, such as the loss of employment, relationships, or family members. If our early problems are frequently tied to growing and developing into healthy adults, later life can be viewed as a period of self-consolidation and acceptance, even while the physical body deteriorates and circumstances worsen.

False hope's pitfalls

When grounded in reality, hope performs a variety of beneficial tasks. However, hope beyond the realm of possibility is a surefire formula for disappointment and disillusionment. Unrealistic expectations can prevent people from appreciating moments of comfort and joy in the present moment, as they continue to gaze into the distance in search of a mirage. Concentrating exclusively on false expectations can also inhibit people from making rational decisions on critical issues such as medical decision-making. Weighing the quality of your life and potential paths to a good death can occasionally take a back place to do everything necessary to avoid death.
