Ukraine shuts down schools from the 13th of March 2020 (3 WEEKS QUARANTINE). Foreign students are not allowed to travel.  Sortin possible ways to reduce the contact of Coronavirus.

It has been reported that starting from the 13th of March 2020, students in Ukraine are to stay indoors and start distance learning for 3 weeks. It was also said that foreign students will not be also allowed to travel outside Ukraine during the quarantine period.  This is due to the ongoing outbreak of Coronavirus in the world. It was announced today as it is said to help restrict the movement of people thereby reducing the spread of the virus. The suspected cases which have been reported currently in Kharkiv city Ukraine, are six students from China who were said to have been in contact with a carrier of Coronavirus.
“Now patients have been placed in special boxes, and doctors are monitoring them. We specialize in respiratory infections and monitor them dynamically,” - Pavlo Martov, head physician of the hospital, stated. News source.

While this quarantine is going on here are some ways to reduce your chances of contacting Coronavirus. If you are just hearing about Coronavirus for the very first time you might be wondering what coronavirus is, so here is a simplified definition of the virus.

Coronaviruses are zoonotic, meaning they are transmitted between animals and people. Detailed investigations found that SARS-CoV was transmitted from civet cats to humans and MERS-CoV from dromedary camels to humans. Several known coronaviruses are circulating in animals that have not yet infected humans. Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that cause illnesses such as common cold to severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV).

Common signs of infection include Respiratory symptoms
 Fever
 Cough
 Shortness of breath
Breathing difficulties.

In more severe cases, the infection can cause pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure and even death.

The main aim of this article is to help outline the possible ways to reduce the contact of Coronavirus.

1. Reduce your movement.
Those people who have already died from this virus, are just like you, with big dreams and life expectations. Some wished, they were more careful. Reduce your movement in this period. It doesn't matter if it has been confirmed in your city or not, remember it starts from just one person to another and it all depends on when they were able to detect it.

2. Wash your hand always.
This can not be overemphasized. Each time I advise people about the importance of washing your hands it seems like I am being bacteria phobic but the truth is that washing your hands reduces the risk of you contracting this virus. It takes nothing away from you to be more careful, always wash your hands before eating.

3. Stop opening public doors with your bare hands.
This is one of the easiest ways to contact diseases generally. Protect yourself as much as you can. Clean your hands as soon as you can because we always touch our face, mouth and our body in general.

4. Stop eating out at this time.
According to the World Health Organization, Standard recommendations to prevent infection spread include regular hand washing, covering mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing, thoroughly cooking meat and eggs. Sounds impossible but my dear you do not know the environment that food was prepared in. You do not know how well that meat was cooked. Besides, the world is full of wicked people, some people don't want to die alone. Be careful.

5. Disinfectant and wet wipes should be your buddy.
Keep cleaning, keep disinfecting, let's be even more careful than before, it won't hurt, what will hurt is when you get infected and wish you had been more careful.

6. Travel less.
Seeing around the world can be so much fun but only when you are in good health. During travel, you meet a lot of people from different locations who have also met with different people during their travel. The airport isn't the best place to frequent at the moment, staying inside a flight for long hours with people isn't also the best idea even tho Turkish airlines have taken time out to put out safety precaution to all flyers which state that during every flight, the air in the cabin is refreshed constantly by air conditioning units equipped with hospital-grade, High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filtration systems. The air in the cabin is completely changed 15 to 30 times per hour as particles of dust and all known airborne bacteria and viruses are filtered. This ensures the highest possible quality of cabin air meaning this isn't 100% effective.

7. Stay away from crowded places.
This is not the time for a party after party. Let the party slide for now. Going to crowded places increases your risk of getting infected with Coronavirus.

8. Wash food items and disinfect products you purchase from stores and supermarkets.
This is very important because when shopping different people touch these items to view the prices or to check the details in these products. They touch these items and we do not know if they are carriers, so it is best that you wash food items including the packaged ones and also disinfect non-edible items when you get home.

9. Stop sharing utensils, drinks or items that require saliva exchange with friends and family
There’s not much evidence that the virus is transmitted through direct contacts – like through sex, Vaisman said, though you might catch it if you kissed someone who was sick.

10. Report any suspected case
Remember we are in this together. Do not keep any symptoms to yourself. Report immediately.

NOTE !!
If you stay with family, friends or a loved one, educate them also, because you are always in close contact with them. If they contact the virus in most cases you are most likely to get infected.

Only 49 out of Ukraine’s 219 border crossings will operate in order to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus. Read more.

  1. It really is something that is going on. In some ways I am more afraid of the impact of the response to the virus then the virus itself but I guess there is not much choice. But the long term effects could be really bad.

  7. Yes same here in the UAE, schools, universities and nurseries have been closed to limit the spread. I think all countries should be doing this as measure of preventing the spread of the virus. Yes most of us will be ok but those that are vulnerable need all the support from all of us hence the reason for doing this!
