ReplyDeleteVery interesting point of view. Thanks for the important post, it really motivates.
yOU ARE WELCOME
DeleteCompletely agree with you on these. They will only end up harming one's well being if you fall into these. Just enjoy the day, it shouldn't be focused on having a significant other, just treat yourself, treat a friend, but just enjoy the day!! x
ReplyDeleteYou are totally right, loving yourself and enjoying the company of people around, it starts there.
DeleteThis was so fun and true, haha. Loved this post.

Lol you get it girl
DeleteSuch a fun and funny post! You're right, some people complain about not having a Valentine too much. If it is meant to be, it will happen...and a lot of couples get too stressed on Vday. It is just a day like any other.
ReplyDeleteLike you are so right, some couples get too stressed on Vals day.
DeleteI'm single and I'm not worried about not having a valentine. I like kicking it with my friends :)

Lol it is simple and still very cool.
DeleteWhat a great outlook. It's true that you will not die if you do not have a valentine. It's an overrated retail driven day at best IMHO.
ReplyDeleteHahahahahaha
DeleteHaha too funny, I usually spend my Valentine's Day at FW.

Well, we might have to ask them ....lol
DeleteWow! I had no idea people did these things because they're feeling alone or depressed on Valentine's Day :( I think it's a great day to celebrate with somebody you love - parents, siblings, friends, your fur babies or how about treating yourself to something (and not claiming somebody gave it to you)? Thanks so much for sharing this - I love the GIF/memes you used to illustrate!

DeleteOh my word, Melody! I am cracking up. I always thought Valentine’s Day was kind of silly and can bring out the worst in people. Love yourself and all other things will fall into place! Thanks for linking up.

Hahahahahaha Girl.. glad I got you.
DeleteTo me, that’s pretty easy. Buy red roses. (Too pricey. How about a succulent? aloe vera has nice symbolism and an exquisite shape.) This year, go out to a fancy restaurant for dinner. (Line cooks have the highest mortality rate from Covid 19, and, even if you think the pandemic fear is way overblown, it’s still kinda crazy to me to stay inside anywhere except home for more than 15 minutes. Especially eating and drinking.) Finally, expect too much of your significant other.
ReplyDeleteIf I were in a relationship, sure, I’d make a special dinner and wear a lot of pink and red and Netflix and chill. Maybe put a little note somewhere.
Nothing against the greeting card industry, or Hallmark, but I’m uninterested in over-hyped holidays. Mother’s Day and the Fourth of July really bug me now. Bad older Baby Boomer behavior gutted the meaning of both!
Who’s got a good mother, really? And land of the free? Uh, not my personal experience.
There really isn’t any “wrong things’
ReplyDeleteAvoid These Things:
ReplyDeleteSend Ex Text Message.
Feeling Alone
Do not get drunk
Do not have bad breath
Purchase oversize clothes
Try to avoid mentioned above things
Expecting that their partners should do something romantic for them (if someone loves you then they show it 365 days a year not just one).
ReplyDeleteNot considering how their partner may feel about the day (Some people have had bad experiences on valentine's day and don't wish to be reminded of it and some may have grown up not ever celebrating it at all so you should discuss celebrating this day with your partner and make a decision together).
Thinking they need to be in a relationship on this day to celebrate it (If you're not in a relationship it doesn't mean you can't celebrate valentine's day if you want to. You can celebrate with your family or even close friends. Doesn't only have to be romantic love).
One of the worst things you can do is to focus on yourself. It should all be about your sweetheart and the two of you as a couple.
