Whatever Makes You Feel Good, Do More of It: My Humans Being Activewear Review

Whatever makes you feel good, has a positive effect on the world, and clears your mental space, do it.

For me, sometimes that means getting outside, putting on something comfortable, and taking a walk without having a complicated plan. I have realised that looking after yourself does not always have to mean spending hours in a gym or following an intense workout routine. Sometimes, it can be as simple as walking, stretching, dancing around your room, taking the stairs or just finding ways to move your body that you genuinely enjoy.

There is something about walking in a park that I particularly enjoy. Being surrounded by trees, greenery, and fresh air gives me a chance to slow down and clear my head. It is exercise, but it does not always feel like exercise, and I think that is what makes it easier to keep doing.

The day these photos were taken, I went for a walk in the park wearing the 360 Performance Bodysuit from Humans Being. We had planned to spend more time taking photos, but, as usual, the weather had other plans. It started raining, so we eventually had to leave, but I was still glad we got outside.

The 360 Performance Bodysuit

The first thing I noticed about the bodysuit was how it looked on the body. It has that fitted, sculpted shape without feeling like I was wearing something overly complicated. The green colour also stood out beautifully against all the greenery around me.

Humans Being describes the 360 Performance Bodysuit as a lightweight unitard with a breathable mesh-back bra, light support, a second-skin feel, and a squat-proof design. It is designed to move with you, whether you are working out, running errands, or simply going about your day.

I found it comfortable enough for walking around the park, and I liked that I did not have to keep adjusting it while moving. The fit gives it a very put-together look, so it works as activewear but also feels like something you could style beyond a workout.

The bodysuit is currently listed at £68 and comes in sizes XS to XXL, with colour options including the green I am wearing and white.

You don't have to live in the gym to be active

I think a lot of us have fallen into the idea that getting fit has to look a certain way.

You need a gym membership. You need a complicated workout programme. You need to spend an hour lifting weights or running on a treadmill. You need to completely change your lifestyle overnight.

But movement can be much simpler than that.

A regular walk can be a good starting point. So can taking a longer route home, going for a walk during your lunch break, stretching in the morning, cycling, swimming, dancing, doing a few exercises at home or simply making an effort to spend less time sitting.

For me, walking is one of the easiest forms of movement to fit into everyday life. There is no equipment to set up and no particular skill required. You can simply put on a comfortable pair of shoes and go.

And there is the mental side of it too. Walking gives me time away from screens and everyday responsibilities. When I am surrounded by trees and open space, I feel more present and less caught up in everything that needs to be done.

A Little More About Humans Being

What made this collaboration particularly interesting to me is that Humans Being places a lot of emphasis on sustainability and transparency.

The brand says its garments are made using natural or recycled materials, including organic cotton and recycled fibres made from consumer waste. The brand also says its fabrics are dyed using low-impact dyes and that its products achieve OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification.

I also like the idea behind its approach to the end of a garment's life. Humans Being says that when one of its garments has reached the end of its useful life, customers can return it to the brand for recycling and receive money off their next purchase.

It is a small but important reminder that clothing does not necessarily have to be treated as disposable.

Alongside the bodysuit, I also received the Lounge Sweatshirt, which is made from 100% organic cotton. It has a relaxed fit, dropped shoulders and a soft feel, making it more of an everyday piece than traditional workout wear.

Finding your own version of fitness

I am learning that being active does not have to look impressive to be worthwhile.

Some days it might be a proper workout. Other days it might be a long walk through a park. Sometimes it might simply be stretching and getting out of the house instead of spending the whole day indoors.

The important thing is finding something that works for you and that you can actually enjoy doing.

On this particular day, the rain cut our park visit short, but I still got my walk, some fresh air and a few photographs that I really love. And honestly, that was enough.

If getting outside helps you feel better, go for the walk. If dancing around your bedroom makes you happy, dance. If you love the gym, go to the gym. There is no single way to take care of yourself.

For me, sometimes it is simply a walk in the park, comfortable activewear, and a little time to clear my head.

  1. Doing what makes us feel good helps; in my case, long walks in the woods help me relax, and I often use these moments to reflect. But it's true, lately the weather messes up our plans, but still, I have to say that the tracksuit from Fottoè is gorgeous, and I love that color!

  2. Hello Melody, I agree on taking a walk without having any plan. It's time to hear the birds migrating above and the leaves falling off trees.
    Have a lovely weekend 🍁

  3. First of all, you look fabulous with that bodysuit! Second, I also prefer clothing made of cotton and recycled fibers and I do tend to be more interested in brands that have a recycle policy. I saw a documentary on how much garment waste is in this world and stayed impressed and shocked about it. For how things are going nowadays, it is our duty to be concerned with this matter and behave accordingly.
Third but equally important, your talk about walking, moving and body awareness is extremly important and hope it will reach many, many persons. I have MS and it arrived to the last stages, I am bound in a wheelchair for several years now and I miss so, so much the sense of freedom that walking gives you. For years, in order to postpone the disability I walked every chance I got, to work and back home, in vacations, with friends and so on. I wasn't a sportive type like you are but just as you said, simple walking gives us so much and means a lot for our body. There were years when doctors saw my MRI and expected to see a wheelchair boud person and I walked towards them with confidence and that was possible only because I kept moving every time I got the chance. But it is not a question of sickness and disability but a question of personal care a society awareness, we stay healthier no matter the obstacles and the environment too because it reduces pollution.
I would like to say so many things but you already said the main things and hope the message gets to many, many people for our own good.

  4. Hi Melody- you look great in the body suit. I love the color. I have a daily routine for exercise. In Philadelphia ( my summer residence) I go to the gym daily and walk on the treadmill. I prefer it bc of the extreme humidity, hot weather, and loose dogs!! In Florida ( my winter residence) I walk on the beach path an hour a day. I do believe movement is important. I also take a yoga stretch class twice a week.

  5. This is such a refreshing reminder that movement doesn't have to be high intensity to be high impact. You look effortlessly put together, and the 360 performance bodysuit looks so good on you like it was made for you.

  6. Como nos dices no hay que machacarse en un gimnasio para disfrutar de un estado físico aceptable. Unos buenos paseos por parques, calles o subir y bajar escaleras es un buen ejercicio.

    Saludos.

  8. Melody, many people struggle with truly major, serious problems, so in my opinion, it's important to be able to treat yourself to something pleasant—even if only occasionally. What constitutes a pleasure varies from person to person; for some, it might be a walk, spending time in nature, or taking a brief break from a difficult reality.
Melody, sending you my best regards and wishing you a lovely Sunday!

  9. I miss taking long walks/hikes like I did when I lived in N. ID. Here is Oregon there are so many tourists that make a calm, enjoyable walk impossible. So, I have a routine I do inside my house and out in my very large back yard. This outfit from Humans Being simply looks amazing on you. Especially the color.
