For the longest time, I thought Stradivarius wasn't a thing in the UK. Don't ask me why I didn't check online; I don't know. Having lived in Ukraine, it was one of my absolute go-to spots. I’ve always appreciated their production quality; unlike a lot of fast-fashion brands, their bags, shoes, and hardware actually last. Yet, every mall I visited in Glasgow seemed to be missing it.
Well, the fashion gods finally listened. Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending an exclusive beauty event at Space NK in Silverburn to meet the founder herself, Sunday Riley! After some morning skincare chats, my partner dropped me off to do a little exploring while he shopped around the mall. As I was walking through Silverburn, my jaw dropped. I spotted Glasgow’s Stradivarius store.
Of course, I had to walk in.
As a blogger, I am incredibly lucky to receive many beautiful PR products. But honestly? Ever since I left Ukraine, I haven't really treated myself to a personal shopping spree. I wanted affordable high-quality, structured, classy bags that felt luxurious but remained effortless to style.
Stradivarius was running a massive sale (we are talking 30% to 40% off), and before I knew it, I walked out with three bags, two pairs of shoes, and some stunning accessories.
I didn't plan it this way, but when I got home, I realized I had my new maroon-red round-clasp shoulder bag and matching heeled leather-effect sandals. Instep straps with bow detail. Heel strap. Square toe. Available in maroon brown. Heel height: 8 cm perfectly complemented a gorgeous, vibrant green midi dress sent to me by Stylewe (keep your eyes peeled, because the styling post for this dress is coming soon).
This deep, dark maroon/burgundy/brown shade is the defining color of the season. It’s rich, sophisticated, and acts as the perfect "pop of color" against a bold forest green.

While my Stradivarius bag is an incredible high-street steal with fantastic structure, if you are looking to invest in a high-class, luxury designer alternative to nail this aesthetic, here are the absolute holy grails on my wishlist right now:
- Gucci Ancora Red (The Jackie 1961): Sabato De Sarno's signature deep burgundy "Ancora" is the ultimate definition of rich, high-class maroon.
- Bottega Veneta (The Andiamo or Sardine in 'Barolo'): Intrecciato leather in this deep red shade is quiet luxury at its finest.
- Coperni (The Swipe Bag in Cherry): For a highly structured, ultra-modern silhouette that screams "It Girl."
- Jacquemus (Le Chiquito Moyen in Dark Red): The perfect structured top-handle bag to bring drama to a monochrome or color-blocked outfit.
Let's be honest about footwear: long-wear high heels are going to cause some tension eventually.
I put these Stradivarius strappy sandals to the ultimate test. I put them on at 6:30 PM for an evening event and didn't take them off until nearly midnight (my sweet friend missed her train, so we had to drive her home, classic night out chaos!).
For the first three hours? Absolute bliss. No rubbing, no pinching, just pure comfort. While my feet did start to feel the pinch towards midnight, that is completely expected for any heel after 6 hours on your feet. For a high-street heel, I am giving these a highly rated, solid pass for comfort and style.

Purfect for summer and a lovely combination with that lime green colour which is my trade mark shade! Luke Evans once told me - Dezzy, whenever I see that shade of green I think of you LOL
ReplyDeleteThe bag is super cute, for me who only use extra large bags it's really small but, together with your dress it's absolutely perfect!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Melody :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a really nice bag. I'll tell you that I made some unexpected purchases yesterday and today – shoes, sandals (three pairs!), and a bag. I bought these items during the summer sale.
Melody, speaking of the Stradivarius store, it's not far from me, about 15 kilometers.
Melody, I send you greetings and wish you a nice evening and Friday!
Lovely combo, the dress, bag and shoes are beautiful. Take care, enjoy your day and the week ahead.
ReplyDeleteThat bag is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteMelody, you are amazing. First, that dress is to live for. The color is actually makes your skin glow. The bag is just an added bonus. My heel days are long gone, but in my day I would definitely wear these. Your testimonial, that you didn't feel any discomfort until 6 hours in on new shoes truly says something about the make of these. I thoroughly enjoyed this post. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteIt’s great news that you can shop at Stradivarius again. I especially love the accessories in that store. Your new bag is really pretty, and I love your outfit with the green dress. The sandals are the highlight for me today.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely evening!
