Everything

Korean culture puts a lot of emphasis on one’s appearance, so the Koreans actually take a lot of pride in the way they dress. And it certainly shows. Koreans dress so well that they look naturally put together, as if they didn’t even have to try too hard to look so good. They’re always ahead of the fashion trends too, sometimes even wearing things before most of the world learns about them. Koreans are also particularly apt at layering, a skill that makes them look incredible! We’re lucky to have street style photographers who capture the style of the Koreans for the world to see.

Black outfit details

Black is a color that is often misunderstood. It is even defined as an absence of color. Both positive and negative, it is used for expressing grief and by youngsters as rebellion. It might appear a little skeptical to think that black is an all-time favorite. But be it punk, classy, preppy, or chic style, black is the color that will make one stand out in a crowd. It is a dark color that absorbs more light and makes the wearer look even hotter. A silent and concealing shade, black is a mixture of many other colors.

Black is a timeless color and is regarded as the most stylish hue in the world of fashion. A dramatic black outfit gives a thinner appearance to the wearer and is mostly a preferred choice for creative people. In a commercial society, black is considered a hue representing power and authority. With regard to formal wear, no color is as acceptable as black. This hue is considered the most elegant choice. This silent and dictating shade is flattering to all skin tones and body types and gives an elegant look.

The Fashion Spotlight:

In the world of fashion, black is used to add a touch of mystery to outfits. It has a visually slimming effect on clothing. Dark charcoal gray and dark brown are also used as substitutes for black. Black is a color that matches every light color. It makes other colors appear brighter. This hue blends well with jewel-toned shades of red, green, blue, and white. It offers a conservative look when matched with gray or light blue.

The upsurge of black as a noticeable color in the fashion segment was the result of the creativity of the fashion houses in Paris and London. This color received fresh inspiration thanks to Chanel's introduction of the Little Black Dress. Later, Christian Dior made the black afternoon dress and jacket. During the 1990s, wearing a black outfit to a party was considered high-society fashion in cities like Paris and London. Black thus became a fashion in high society. Later, with the passage of time, the color was adopted as a staple color in any fashionable gathering.

Vintage fashion isn’t about dusty old clothes, it’s about bringing back fashion from a different era that is timeless and classic. It’s about taking inspiration from bygone ages and bringing it into the 21st century. This winter, vintage fashion is at the forefront of both the catwalk and the high street, in terms of both fabric choices and patterns. Here are just a few cozy options from the good old’ days that can be a great addition to your winter wardrobe.

Vintage clothing is a generic term for garments originating from a previous era. The phrase is also used in connection with a retail outlet, e.g. "vintage clothing store." Today vintage dressing encompasses choosing accessories, mixing vintage garments with new, as well as creating an ensemble of various styles and periods. Vintage clothes typically sell at low prices for high end named brands. It has been part of the world since World War I as an idea of reusing clothing because of the textile shortage. Vintage clothes help the environment by re wearing the clothing and repurposing them into alternative items. Vintage clothing is used as a muse for new designs and is known to be retro clothing.

Knitwear for the modern woman
Knitting is one of the oldest forms of making fabric and is practical in terms of durability and warmth. Knitwear had its heyday as sportswear in the 1920s - 1940s but then began to seep into mainstream fashion. The chunky knit jumper has always been a winter staple, but the pattern choices for this season are heavily influenced by the bright colors of the 1980s and 1990s. Think geometric patterns and primary colors. These work too for jersey knit dresses and can be a winter statement piece for any wardrobe

Tactile velvet
Velvet is the dream fabric and is fashionable for women over 60, just as much as women in their 20s. The fine looped material shimmers and shines in the light, yet is think and beautifully tactile. You just want to reach out and touch it. The classic, black velvet dress drapes well over curves and looks good in crushed velvet too. The last time velvet was so fashionable, was back in the 1990s, but this time round, we are modernizing the look with pastel colors too. Pastels are flattering to skin tone and look less harsh than the traditional bottle green and crimson that is associated with velvet. Even model, Chrissy Teigen wore a pink velvet dress out in Los Angeles this month, perfectly fitting over her baby bump.

There’s a reason why Southern women are associated with grace, charm, and beauty: they almost always look effortlessly put-together. But what exactly differentiates their style from the rest of the country? And how can anyone emulate it?
With a firm grasp on your fashion sensibilities, you can shop like a Southern gal in no time. Whether you’re a recent transplant to anywhere from Louisiana to Tennessee, or living elsewhere in the country entirely, read on to learn the basics of the style below the Mason-Dixon line.
Party Dresses
Between sorority soirées, tailgate parties, and débutante balls, Southern women lead very active social lives. (And yes, they still get glammed up for gem day). As a result, they’re bound to have more than a few party dresses in their closets for these occasions.
These dresses may vary a lot in colour, cut, and fit, but given the hot climate, are very often sleeveless or short-sleeved, and hit at the knee or above. Bohemian sundresses are particularly popular for laid-back affairs, as are styles that have a fitted bodice, and fuller skirts for more formal fetes.
Note that Southern women don’t shy away from colour, either: They don’t necessarily play it safe with a little black dress at the cocktail hour.
Blazer
Crafted from cotton and polyester, the fabric is soft and smooth, the blazer with long sleeves features small stand up collar, button closure, striped motifs, and flap pockets. Wear it with a shoulder bag to go to work.
A more modest woman might opt for a navy blue A-line dress. With a classic cut and a high neck, it’s still somewhat traditional, but the sheer back with floral lace adds a touch of flirtation.
On the other hand, a more fashion-forward woman might go for a tank dress with a peek-a-boo neckline, which is on-trend and perfect for slightly more casual shindigs. And a daring gal could surely sport a frock in a vibrant hue like fire-engine red, with a lace-up top, and eye-catching crochet trim.

When winter is approaching, it’s time to take a peek inside your closet. Naturally, with cooler temperatures on the way, you’re going to be swapping out your sandals, lightweight summer dresses, and shorts for warmer apparel, like sweater tops and stylish booties.

Cold weather doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t still look chic, either. In fact, wintertime offers some unique opportunities for creative layering. And who doesn’t like an excuse to invigorate their wardrobes with some new pieces?

If you’re ready to rotate your closet over for the winter months, make sure to incorporate these key staple pieces. To boot, we’ve included some style tips on how to wear them, no matter the occasion.

Sweater tops
It doesn’t get much cozier than a sweater in winter — and the good news is, you can still look super stylish wearing one.

Consider a sweater with shoulder cutouts, which has a vibe that’s subtly sultry but still casual enough for daytime, especially with patterned leggings and flat booties.

A simple V-neck sweater gets a spunky upgrade with lace-up detailing at the top — and all you need are skinny jeans and over-the-knee boots to pull the whole look together.

Don’t overlook a simple wide-sleeved cardigan, either. Wear it open over a long-sleeved knit top with rolled up faded jeans and pointy flats, and then top it all off with some simple crystal or pearl stud earrings. It’s a combo that manages to be both classic and contemporary.

Dressy leggings
Who says leggings are just for the gym? Sure, this piece is perfect for lounging, but in the right fabrics and with the right details, they can be downright dressy.

Colored leggings, for example, have a little more intrigue than basic black. For the winter months, consider a pair in burgundy, eggplant, or deep green. They’re stunning even with a long, slouchy sweater or blouse in a soft hue like cream, taupe, or gray. Top it all off with a belted wool coat and some ankle boots for a totally on-trend look.

There’s nothing wrong with neutral leggings, either. Black is a stellar staple to have in your closet because it’s obviously ultra-versatile. You can make black leggings look instantly elegant with a lace top and pointy pumps, or dress them down with a floral blouse and flats. The bottom line is that you’re bound to get a lot of wear out of them.

Charcoal gray is slightly less dramatic than black, and also an ideal pick for winter. Gray leggings look phenomenal with graphic tees and slip-on sneakers for a more casual look, but can also be dressed up with a white silk tunic and crimson platform heels, for example.

This winter, seek out a pair or two of leggings that have some subtle detailing on them, which have a little added visual interest. Studs, embroidery, and distressed slits or tears all make for an edgier pair of leggings that you can sport with a graphic T-shirt and blazer to strike a compromise between professional and rock ’n’ roll.

Booties
If there’s one style of shoe you’re going to want a pair (or three) of this winter, it’s booties. This EMPIRE POINTED TOE ANKLE BOOTS IN PINK GLITTER is the perfect gift for Christmas.

They’re practical in the colder months for obvious reasons, but they’re also super cute with a wide variety of ensembles. Plus, they come with an endless array of heel heights, toe shapes, materials, and details, so you’re bound to find a pair that works for every outfit and occasion.

You can’t beat a flat brown leather bootie with distressed jeans and an oversized scarf for the ultimate low-key daytime outfit. On the other hand, suede booties in charcoal gray or jet black look stunning with a sweater dress, opaque tights, and a statement necklace — and that’s an ensemble you can easily wear to work at a casual office or on a date.

You’ll also find that moto booties add an edge to just about anything, whether gray leggings and a tunic or a cowl-neck top and a midi skirt.

Velvet tops
There’s no doubt that velvet just oozes winter charm. So this season, embrace the luxe fabric with some new velvet tops, which give any ensemble a dose of understated glamour.

We love a long-sleeved off-the-shoulder velvet top with black skinny jeans and wedges for date night or drinks with your girlfriends, or a velvet cardigan with a basic tee and boyfriend jeans for a more laid-back, yet still fashion-forward outfit.

A flutter-sleeved velvet T-shirt has a romantic look, peeking out from under a wool parka. Pair it with leather leggings for an edgy vibe, or gray denim for a softer look.

Tunics
Talk about versatility! Depending on the length, a tunic can be worn as a top or a dress, layered over hosiery or leggings, and worn for chill daytime activities, as well as dressier evening affairs.
During winter, go for a tunic in a soft hue like dusty mauve, purple, or mocha — crochet trim or floral lace along the neck or sleeves will add even more femininity to this piece. You can sport it over leggings or tights with slouchy suede boots for a boho look, or with nude pumps when you’re going out at night.

A velvet tunic with long bell sleeves has a subtle ‘70s feel, but it feels instantly modern when worn with wedge boots and textured tights.

Florals aren’t just for spring and summer. Go ahead and slip on a tunic with a flower print — with a black, navy, or otherwise dark background, it’s still seasonally appropriate. Then pair it with knee-high riding boots and an infinity scarf, and you’re ready to roll.
