Key Verse
“Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins” (James 5:19,20).
Text — Galatians 6:1-3
Message
On August 3, 1911, Joseph Flammer and Joseph B. Pulitz saved the lives of five people who were drowning in the waters of Long Island Sound, New York. They saw the swimmers struggling against the strong currents. Quickly, they dived into the water and brought them to safety. From this story, we can see that the two Josephs were very observant and did not turn a “blind eye’’ to what they saw. They neither rejoiced in the calamity of those five nor got out their phones to video them, but they helped to rescue them.
The Lord has charged us to be our brother’s keeper and rescue our fellow brethren who might have been taken in a fault, that is, slipped into sin, or backsliding. We must be very observant to prevent the devil from snatching our brethren to hell. We are not to rejoice over such but to pray for them, visit them, and see how to bring them back to the Lord. We must avoid being arrogant and help such in the spirit of meekness.

We are not to rejoice over such

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely. Faith and service go hand in hand. Trusting in God while actively helping others brings purpose, balance, and meaning to our lives. It’s a path that nurtures both our spirit and our community.
DeleteIt's shocking and sad to see how many people would rather video someone else's struggle instead of helping in their time of need. We are all brothers and sisters walking this planet and need to do a better job of helping instead of turning a blind eye.
ReplyDeleteYou’re absolutely right. It’s heartbreaking that so often people choose to record rather than reach out. Compassion and action are what truly connect us as human beings, and we all benefit when we choose to help one another rather than ignore those in need.
I understand what you mean. Empathy does seem to be in short supply at times. Thank you for sharing, Marisa. I’ll be sure to check out your new post and your children’s poetry blog as well; it sounds lovely.
DeleteCytaty trafne i zawsze na czasie📖😊
ReplyDeleteMoc serdeczności przesyłam🌼🤗
Wishing you a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteUn caro saluto
Absolutely. Extending help to others not only supports those in need but also nurtures a sense of community and harmony in our own lives. It’s through these connections that we find balance and purpose.
DeleteThanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI invite you to visit my last post. Have a good week-end!
Have a lovely weekend too.
DeleteWonderful post Melody. Helping others is what we are called to do and thankfully in the area where I live, we see a lot of this happening. Sadly, there are areas where people choose not to reach out and help either because they do not want to be involved, they fear for their own lives, or they would prefer to be on the sidelines filming (on their phone) what is taking place. A great reminder to be a servant to others...
ReplyDeleteThank you. I completely agree. True service often requires stepping in, not just watching.
Saludos.
It’s troubling how fear and politics can overshadow basic humanity. Acts of compassion, even in risky situations, truly show the best of us.
Delete
Absolutely. Kindness is vital, even if not everyone responds as we hope those rare negative moments shouldn’t overshadow the value of helping.
DeleteDear Melody, I believe that everyone of us has to stand close to the other. To support each other, helping all of us.
ReplyDeleteAn open arm and soul is the best, my friend.
Have a nice day
Well said. An open heart and willingness to help truly strengthen us all.
DeleteMuy buen Post.
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo ♥
Thanks. I'm delighted that struck a chord with you.

ReplyDeleteThank you.
Deletewe should help others in struggling ....
ReplyDeleteGood posting
Yes, lending a hand in times of struggle is one of the greatest ways to show our humanity.
DeleteMelody, your post is very interesting and beautiful, and the words you shared make the person reading this test stop and think. Unfortunately, many people today, seeing the misfortune that has occurred, record videos, take photos, and post them online, hoping for the most likes.
ReplyDeleteMelody, greetings from hot and sunny (I'm so happy!) Poland!
Thank you kindly. You’re right. True care is shown in action, not in seeking attention. Warm greetings back to sunny Poland.
DeleteIt is essential to have faith and motivation helps to be a better person.
ReplyDeleteRegards.
Indeed. Faith and motivation guide us to act with kindness and integrity.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely. Even small gestures of support can make a profound difference in someone’s life.
DeleteYes, you should treat others the way you would like to be treated. And it is unlikely that anyone would want to be filmed on a phone instead of helping in a difficult moment.
ReplyDeleteExactly. Compassion in action matters far more than capturing the moment.
DeleteGreat reminder to not only help but be watching for those who need help of some sort. It's all too easy to be so caught up in what's happening in your life and miss troubles in someone elses life.
ReplyDeleteYou’re absolutely right. It’s so important to stay aware of those around us, even when our own lives feel busy. Small acts of care and attention can make a meaningful difference in someone else’s day.
Deleteenjoyed the trip around and thru the blog. YOu are a beautiful lady with great beliefs, and a member of a great househole..
ReplyDeleteLove from this side...
I’m glad you enjoyed reading this post, and your encouragement means a great deal. It’s wonderful to connect with you.
DeleteThis is beautiful and so very powerful. And words by which we should all live.
ReplyDeleteThose are indeed words worth keeping close in our daily lives.
DeleteSaving someone from the depths of the sea is a true act of humanity, but sometimes animals have a great deal of compassion. I'm glad the Bible is the way, the truth, and the life for you.
ReplyDeleteIt’s true, acts of compassion, whether by people or even animals, are deeply moving. I’m grateful for the guidance and comfort that faith brings in these moments.
DeleteAmen. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
You are welcome.
DeleteBeautiful words! We should always watch out for each other no matter what.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend sweetheart!
hugs
Donna

ReplyDeleteI’m glad you liked it. I chose it because it felt like the perfect way to set the tone for the post.
DeleteHello Melody, I must say I have witnessed someone being attacked, and as a woman I did feel such fright and empathy for the person being attacked, but there was very little I could do to help them! We do live in very scary days! But so very thankful for those that can just jump in to help! Blessings, Roxy
ReplyDeleteHello Roxy, you’re right. There are brave people who can act, and it’s comforting to know that kindness and courage still exist in the world. Blessings to you as well.
DeleteIt is well to remember that we all are in need of help and support at one time or another in our lives. Your post is spot on.
ReplyDeleteHugs and Blessings
Thank you so much. You’re absolutely right. Everyone needs support at some point, and recognizing that helps us be more compassionate toward others. I’m glad the post resonated with you.
