CDC to hold independent Covid-19 briefing Friday

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the United States will conduct a media briefing on Friday to provide updates on the Covid-19 pandemic.

Dr. Rochelle Walensky, Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, will talk at 11 a.m. ET.

The last time the agency had a briefing like this was a few months ago: Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, is a frequent participant in joint briefings with officials from the White House and the National Institutes of Health. On July 27, 2021, it held its last impartial Covid-19 briefing.

This month, the government was chastised again for the ambiguity in its instructions on testing and seclusion for those who test positive for Covid-19.
