Wearing Ripped Jeans in Nigeria is a Mini War.

In Nigeria, most people from age 30-100 do not get the reason and style behind wearing distressed/ripped jeans. I went to the market and a man shouted from afar “you should have torn all your clothes”. I replied to him, mind your business”. People tend to see you as bad or sluty wearing ripped jeans in Nigeria. Honestly, all I see are pretenders looking for people to judge and feel more righteous than.

People are mostly judged by the physical which is not bad but it is one of the biggest contributing issues we are facing in Nigeria. People want to feel better than you just because they are dressed in a certain way which they think is more appropriate than yours. Religious nation yet so envious of each other. Most times, when I go out wearing ripped jeans more than 4 people seem to have issues with it but one question they fail to ask themselves is whose body is the jeans on?. Well, this doesn't affect me in any way because I don't pay attention to such people I wear what suits me.

Giving that I mostly wear Ankara prints that are formal I decided to pair this cold should top with my ripped jeans instead of just pairing it with the skirt that matches it.

  2. Oh my goodness, that sounds so awful to deal with. People need to worry less about what other people are wearing and worry more about being kind and non judgemental! You look wonderful as always.

    1. Well, it's changing but some people who feel they are better won't let others be.

  6. I am a huge fan of distressed denim but only in the last year or two am I really loving this super distressed look like your jeans. I love the contrast of the dressy shirt with shredded pants. So cool! And how awful that people yell nasty things at you. But good for you for staying true to yourself, wearing what you love, and ignoring them! You inspire me!

  9. My dear this is Nigeria, I am already used to it but do not care and will not even give a listening ear to them. I wear what suits me cause God sees the heart. Most of this religious people are not even good people at all. Their own is t judge and judge as if they are better.

I like your outfit and the different location. Do you hun!

  13. You are looking stunning in this jeans and top. I am glad you don't care what people say. I have dealt with judgement so much. People will blame you for their mistakes and thoughts. Its annoying. You take care my dear.

  14. Some people should really mind their own business. I could never understand people who feel the need to comment on other's clothes. We should be free to wear what we want.

You look great in this...I really like how you styled these distressed jeans with ankara top.

  15. I really get that notion, people used to raise their eyebrows on mini skirts, crop tops and yes the ripped jeans. I guess if you are wearing it comfortably and confidently who cares on what they say. You look really cook on it and I like your cute top.

“Trust Him For That Touch” Sunday, June 15, 2025

Key Verse “And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God” (Luke 13:13). Text — Luke 13:10-17 Message Social engineers have pointed out the power of touch in human relationships. They describe it as one of the most effective means of social connection, but they fail to understand why it is so. Recent advances in science have now revealed that when you touch something you leave your DNA on it. The DNA is the hereditary material inherited from your parents; it is what makes you who you are. When Jesus touched that woman therefore, He left a part of Himself on her. Does anyone still wonder why she was made instantly whole? Christ’s touch on your spirit straightens you up from the crookedness inherited from Adam’s disobedience. His touch on your mind removes the confusion and afflictions of your troubled existence. And, as with the woman, Christ’s touch on your body is all you require for healing and health. You must however believe He has both the power and the willingness to perform it. Faith is the unfailing arm that lays hold upon God’s possibilities, therefore have faith in God. On this World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, may God bless the old people. Quote Christ’s touch on your spirit straightens you up Challenge Dare to believe in a faithful God. Prayer for today Holy Father, touch and make me whole, in Jesus’ name.
