When I was a teenager, there was a boy who liked me. He invited me to go swimming in a popular river in the community we lived in. Now, that river was a place my parents warned us never to go near. My mum was especially strict about it. She used to say the river didn’t like non-indigenes, and there had been quite a few deaths connected to it. I remember she even warned my brother seriously when he once mentioned going there. I think they even announced in church for parents to tell their children to stay away.
Interestingly, that same river was where I got baptized—though in a different area, the sand dredging site that’s more controlled. But still, this boy kept asking, and one day when my parents were out, I followed him—and a few others—to the river.
Now that I think of it, neither of us knew how to swim. We were young and just wanted to have fun, but looking back now, it was such a dangerous thing to do. The part of the river we went to was near an abandoned school. We just got in the water and stayed there for a while. I even went near a narrow part at one point, not knowing how risky it was. Thank God nothing happened.
Afterward, I rushed home, took my bath, applied some cream, and acted like nothing had happened—because my mum could always tell when someone had been in the water. She’s from Rivers State, so she just had that sensitivity. She used to look at my brother and say, “You went to that river,” and she’d be really upset.
As for me, I never dipped my head, so my face stayed dry, no red eye, and looked normal. I didn’t even have proper swimwear—just regular clothes and a change of clothes. But what’s interesting is that even though I didn’t dip my head, whenever my mum came back, she would still look at me like she sensed something was off. She was that perceptive.
We did that three times—completely unsupervised. Looking back now, I know I didn’t act wisely at all. It was careless and dangerous.
But just recently, God reminded me of that and told me, “I protected you.” That really touched me. Now that I understand better, I realize that could have easily been a trap. But God stepped in, even when I wasn’t thinking straight.
So I just want to thank Him for His mercy and protection. Even when I was unaware, He was watching over me.

My God has done it again! He told us to trust in Him, and He would take care of us, and today, I have a powerful testimony to share with you all. My heart is overflowing with praise and thankfulness to God. Every time we step out and return safely, it is truly a miracle.
Yesterday, my brother went out, and on his way back, a high-tension electric pole fell on the car he was in. But by the grace of God, nothing happened to him. Sadly, another man died on the spot, and I pray that God consoles his family and heals their hearts.
Every single day we go out, whether the journey is long or short, there is always a reason to be thankful to God. Some people go out for a simple stroll and never make it back home. I am so grateful to God for His protection, and I will never forget the power of prayer. Prayer is a covering, and I bless God for keeping my brother safe.
Come and join me in singing Hallelujah! Jehovah Jireh has done me well!
Thank you Jesus.

When everything seems awry, I turn to God. He's always in the business of working wonders. I've realized that it's essential to share my testimony whenever I receive answers to my prayers. Sometimes, amidst life's challenges, we tend to overlook the power of prayer for the smallest things. Instead, we rely solely on our knowledge, teachings, or skills. However, putting our faith in God can yield far greater results. Even when our faith wavers, it's important to remember the teachings, like those in Matthew 7 of the Bible.

Matthew 7:7-8 King James Version
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened
My parents instilled in me the belief that prayer is the ultimate key, and I can attest that when we pray sincerely, God sees our hearts and responds. As Matthew 17:20 in the King James Version states, faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains.
I recall a time when I had a workable target to meet. Initially, I attempted to achieve it through my own efforts, but I fell short. However, after praying to God, I not only met the target the next day but repeated the success. God has bestowed upon us the privilege to communicate with Him through prayer. His nature remains unchanged; He desires us to ask, and He will answer.
Even during times of distress, when praying seems arduous or we lack the desire, I believe God eagerly waits for us to reach out. Prayer truly unlocks doors to the impossible. With unwavering faith, I've experienced remarkable outcomes. Though challenges may arise, persistent prayer yields triumph.
Indeed, prayer possesses the power to transform any circumstance or emotion. It serves as the conduit between us and God, enabling us to receive His blessings. Let's not forget the importance of prayer amidst life's hustle and bustle.
Always remember these verses
1 John 5:14
And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.
Jeremiah 33:3
Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.
