Something About This Just Doesn’t Feel Right

By MELODY JACOB - Sunday, September 06, 2026

This has been sitting on my mind for a while, and as uncomfortable as it is for me to write about it, I feel like I need to get it out. I have been going over the same thoughts again and again, trying to understand why I feel the way I do. The truth is, I haven’t come to any conclusion. I’m not accusing anyone of anything, and I’m not trying to create a problem where there isn’t one. I genuinely want to look at this with an open mind, which is why I’m bringing it here. Sometimes you can ask a question directly, but sometimes even asking the question can make it seem as though you have already made up your mind or are taking offence. So instead, I want to tell you exactly what happened and let you tell me whether I’m seeing something that isn’t there or whether you understand why I feel a little uncomfortable about the whole situation. It started with a property I was trying to fence back home. When you are not physically present for a project, you have no choice but to trust people. Yo...

Mugdock Reservoir: The Victorian Engineering Marvel We Almost Missed

By MELODY JACOB - Saturday, August 29, 2026

Our little big adventure really did not want to end at Tannoch Loch. After leaving Tannoch Loch, we got back in the car and started heading home, but then we saw Drumclog Moor Car Park and something in me said, wait, why are people parking here? There was a map, so this time we actually stood there and looked at it properly, and that was when I realised there was something else around Mugdock Country Park that we had not seen: Mugdock Reservoir. Remember how I told you we had gone looking for Mugdock Castle earlier and somehow ended up at Craigend Castle instead? Well, apparently we had been walking around Mugdock without fully understanding just how much was around us. This time, with the map in front of us, we could see the reservoir and decided to walk towards it. When we...

Happy Birthday to me

By MELODY JACOB - Tuesday, June 09, 2026

Today is my birthday, and at first I thought I would not say anything at all. I usually keep things to myself, but I told myself that even if I do not post on Instagram, I would still mark the day here on my blog . Today matters to me. I was born on this day, and that is not something I take lightly. It is a reminder that my life has meaning and that I am grateful to be here. I have lived through disappointment and moments when things did not go as planned. I have also experienced victories, growth, and quiet achievements that shaped who I am becoming. Looking back, every part of my journey has led me to this day, and for that I am sincerely thankful to God and to everyone who has played a role in my life, whether near or far. Today I am off work, and I am choosing rest, reflection, and peace. A birthday, to me, is about slowing down, appreciating messages from those who remember, and sharing a little of my day as it unfolds. I will also be sharing another post about my birthday moment...
