In Stormy Weather by Chelsea Curto Review

Okay, picture this: Florida in the middle of summer, absolute scorching heat, a record-breaking hurricane season brewing, and two ridiculously attractive, hyper-smart meteorologists who have been head-to-head rivals for years.
First, you’ve got Quincy Monroe. She is an absolute powerhouse—PhD in atmospheric sciences, host of a massive online weather show, huge Instagram following, and total boss in a male-dominated STEM field. She’s driven, independent, and strictly focused on securing a massive career opportunity. Nothing is supposed to throw her off balance.
Until Sebastian Dunn walks back into her life.
Sebastian is her long-standing academic rival, her best friend’s older brother, and a flashy NYC TV weatherman that every woman in the room swoons over—everyone except Quincy, of course. They’ve had this quippy, high-tension bickering dynamic forever, and now they’re both back in Florida, trying to cover the exact same storm season.
Because of their work, they get thrown into complete forced proximity. We are talking hours together in storm-chasing vehicles, driving into torrential rain, tracking severe weather, and trading razor-sharp banter in the front seat. Quincy is doing everything she can to keep her professional walls built sky-high.
But Sebastian? Oh, the man is down bad. He isn't actually trying to outshine her—he utterly reveres her. He adores how brilliant she is, defends her against misogynistic industry jerks, and looks at her like she hung the moon and forecast every cloud in the sky.
The adrenaline from chasing literal tornadoes and hurricanes has their pulses racing, and the close quarters are driving them insane. Every lingering look is lasting a little too long, every tease is walking a finer line, and the heat between them is building up faster than a storm system.
Then comes a massive, dangerous storm that traps them inside together. The power goes out, wind and rain are slamming against the building, and there is nowhere left to run—and nowhere left to hide from this overwhelming pull. Sebastian steps into her space, looks her dead in the eyes, and completely drops the rival act...
...and right there? Right when the air in that room gets thicker than a Category 5 hurricane, the tension snaps, and things get so heated you'll need a cold shower? That is where I stop! If you want to know what happens next in that room, you’re going to have to go buy a copy and read it yourselves!

It sounds a good book Melody.
ReplyDeleteTake care.
Thank you.
DeleteAfter reading this, I think the hurricane may be the least dangerous thing in Florida. Two rival meteorologists forced to spend hours together is a good start, especially when one of them is already completely in love. And of course you stopped just when the forecast was becoming really interesting. I do not know what happened in that room, but I doubt they were discussing atmospheric pressure. The photos are beautiful too.
ReplyDeleteHaha, you caught me; barometric pressure was definitely the last thing on their minds at that point! Thank you so much for the lovely comment and for noticing the photos; I really hope you enjoy watching all that chaotic, high-heat energy boil over when you read it!

DeleteYou write a great preview, Melody. But I don't think this is my kind of book! Still, if there is a way to present a cliffhanger, I think you've managed it!
ReplyDeleteTotally understand Jeanie.
DeleteHi Melody,
ReplyDeleteI think you reviewed a great book. Speaking of weather and natural disasters, I’ve had water in my house 3 times; once, it was flooded to a depth of 80 centimeters.
Best regards, Melody!
Oh dear, Anna, that must be such a difficult situation.
DeleteNot my genre, unfortunately.
ReplyDeleteThat is fine, Ewa.
