One thing I really enjoy about Abuja is that there always seems to be something happening somewhere in the city. You can go hiking in the morning, find a food market in the afternoon, sit somewhere surrounded by greenery, or simply discover a part of the city you had never paid attention to before.
That was exactly how my Saturday went.
On Saturday, 3 October 2026, I spent part of my day exploring Abuja, starting with a fitness and wellness event before heading to the Bread Market District, an artisan food and pastry pop-up at Harrow Golf Park in Wuse 2. And honestly, it turned into one of those simple Abuja days that I really enjoyed.
Instead, I found a comfortable spot and enjoyed the surroundings.
There was so much greenery around the venue, along with a small stadium, outdoor sporting areas and a restaurant. Abuja has plenty of green spaces, and I have always loved that side of the city. Sometimes I do not even need to be doing anything. Give me somewhere green and peaceful to sit, and I will be happy.
My friend and her boyfriend joined the fitness activities while I stayed back, took photographs and enjoyed watching everyone participate. My friend had actually won the previous edition of the fitness challenge, so it was lovely seeing her return for another round. This time, someone else took the win.
