  2. - a little bit of humour can save a bad day.
    - spanish and portuguese languages are not as similar as people might think.
    - don't quit a job, a course or whatever, before you give it a second chance.
    - rem's dreamy melodies and lyrics are very comforting.
    - a novel can be really good, even if the writer is not very well know, or if it's now very visible in the bookstore shelters.

    1. So true! They look close at first glance, but once you listen or try speaking, you quickly notice the differences. A great reminder that languages hold their own unique charm.

  3. I have learnt that in some European countries they have started building roads which use the pressure of cars and tires above for producing energy, what a brilliant idea.

    1. That really is a brilliant idea. Turning something as ordinary as traffic into a source of renewable energy shows how creative solutions can be hiding in plain sight. It makes you wonder what other everyday actions could be transformed into power.

  4. I learned a new exercise in sports; I really enjoy practicing new movement elements... I also learned a new English word, and there's still a lot to learn... and finally, I'm learning a new technique for working with fabrics; it's fantastic.

  7. I like to learn new things every day. :) Yesterday I learned about a French settlement and fort here in Nova Scotia, Canada. It was built in the early 1700's, and then went into the ruin. Parks Canada rebuilt it and wow, it was pretty amazing. They had people dressed in time period clothing and talking about life as those it was that time period, so I learned a lot. I even had lunch similar to how it would have been in those olden days. Hope you learned some new things this week too.

  11. Around here, we say you never go to bed without learning something new. Anything, no matter how insignificant, is always interesting. I learned about gardening from plants, specifically one I really like, which decorates the outside of the Alhambra in Granada. It's a climber known as Celestina. It's a Plumago climbing plant with beautiful, hardy flowers, and I have to plant it among my plants at home.
    Best regards.

In order to try to forget all that, I'm learning how to embroider... I hated it when I was a small child.

  27. Right now I am reading a book called The Barn. It's a story about Emmett Till. I've been trying to educate myself more about the oppression and silencing of African American voices that's been going on in the United States for many decades. This is a story that's so important to this country's history, yet it's one not many know about because it's something that some people want to stay buried. I've heard his name in passing, but am ashamed to admit I've never really dug into who he was and why his death needs a light shined on it. I'm sure there are other things I've learned as well, but I feel like this was the most important thing I've learned this week.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Learning about Emmett Till and his story is both heartbreaking and deeply important. You’re right. It’s a part of history that was silenced for too long, but shedding light on it helps ensure it is not forgotten. It takes courage to face difficult truths, and your willingness to learn speaks to a genuine heart.

    1. Wow, you were so productive this week. It's incredible that you dove into so many different things, art, literature, and even self-improvement. I've never heard of that "six hats" technique before, but the idea of needing three options to make a real choice is really interesting. It makes so much sense.

For me it was learning different aspects of these:Patience is a virtue, and I've learned that using the right tone of voice goes a long way in communication. Although I was aware of this, I practiced it even more this week. I also decided to take a step toward building wealth and made sure to remember my devotional text.

I'm so glad you like the post. It's one of my favorite parts, too—seeing what everyone else is up to. It makes the world feel a little smaller and a lot more connected.

I've been away for most of the past week, in Dumfries and Galloway where I learned a lot about Robert Burns at the Ellisland Museum which is based at the farm where he lived for a few years and wrote some of his best known poems. 47.

    Saludos.
