Paints, Flowers, and Simple Joys in Glasgow

Melody Jacob in Tk maxx

My day out in Glasgow was so beautiful, and I had such a lovely time. I did have some errands to run, but I also wanted to enjoy the day. My partner was heading towards the city centre, so I joined him. After he parked in a car park, we strolled together, and I saw a wedding dress that caught my eyes before parting ways to do what we needed to do.

As I walked, I took photos of things that caught my eye along the street. The city was full of people, and I realized it was probably because one of Scotland’s big football matches was happening today. The atmosphere was lively.

One of the highlights for me was finally purchasing the paints I’ve been wanting for a while. I’ve also been longing to step back into my creative side, and this felt like a good beginning. By nature, I’m a creative person, but I haven’t really shared that part of myself here on the blog. I feel ready now to start doing so.

The day was sunny and bright, which made everything feel even better. I loved watching the buses go by, especially the open-top tourist bus. Seeing the curiosity on the faces of visitors reminded me of when I first arrived in Scotland, eager to explore every corner.

I ran a few errands along the way. I stopped at Argos to look for paint but didn’t find much variety, so I went to a specialist shop instead. The staff there were so helpful when I explained the project I had in mind, they guided me towards the right products. Just after I entered a British Heart Foundation shop, I picked up a simple straw bag at a bargain price, as well as a small torchlight to add to our adventure kit. Later, I went to another shop and found two ceramic plates I plan to use as palettes for painting. I also entered Tk Maxx and took a selfie in the mirror before entering a drugstore to buy an earring.

Before heading home, I treated myself to a glass of apple cider at a bar, then popped into Victoria’s Secret and Quiz Clothing. On my way back, I picked some fresh flowers, which was a sweet way to end the outing.

A glass of apple cider

Throughout the day, I was on the phone with my friend—we went from one topic to another, which made everything even more enjoyable. Once I got home, I made a hearty stew with meat and rice, then had a bath, ate, and settled in to rest while watching a movie on YouTube. That’s when I started writing this post, reflecting on what a full and happy Saturday it had been.

I hope you had a lovely Saturday too. How did you spend yours?

  9. That sounds like a fun day. And wow, what a wedding dress. We went to an outdoor wedding yesterday and that dress looks like it would be too formal for that wedding, but I bet some bride will look gorgeous in it. I like a good glass of apple cider too, and that looks refreshing.:) Hugs-Erika

    "ônibus turístico conversível. "

  14. Melody, it's great that you had a nice Saturday :)
My Saturday, unfortunately, wasn't great. The weather was terrible – cold, no sun, strong wind. Another thing – our car was at the mechanic's since Wednesday morning. The car was supposed to be fixed yesterday. Unfortunately, yesterday he delivered the bad news: there's something wrong with the brakes, it's impossible to brake quickly. Apparently, the mechanic is supposed to receive the ordered part tomorrow. Unfortunately, the car issue ruined my plans for yesterday and today...
Melody, I send you my best regards and wish you a good new week!
    P.S.
The wedding dress is gorgeous and the flowers are a beautiful symbol of joy and life!

I'm glad you eventually found the paints you were looking for, and that straw bag is gorgeous, I do have a weakness for them. 22. I really love the first black and white photo of you shopping, Melody. It sounds like you had a fun time in Glasgow and I'm glad you and your partner were able to enjoy that stroll together too. I hope you find the perfect wedding dress, whether it has bows, buttons, ribbons or anything else. Open top buses are great fun to ride and are a brilliant way to see a city in a short space of time or to locate the places you really want to see.
Chatting with friends, a refeshing drink, pretty posy and an evening watching a movie - perfect.
It has been a busy week here with three birthdays so a few moments piece and quiet with my feet up were welcome yesterday. Have a good week ahead x

  25. ¡Hola, Melody!

i don't consider myself anything close to an artist. the only thing that i'm halfway good at is maths, but i like to try other activities from time to time, in order to keep my mind busy and develop other brain areas.

  29. Unfortunately, my Saturday wasn't as joyful and positive as yours, because the weather was awful, with constant rain and a cold wind blowing. I had planned to go to an outdoor event in a nearby town, but I ended up not going anywhere because of the weather.
I'm so glad your day was successful and joyful. Your post exudes a lot of optimism, and I really like that :)

Pogoda zwariowała, raz upał a potem deszcz i zimno. Super strój Kochana Melody.
