We visited Drumpellier Park for the second time, and the reason was simple: the first time we went, we didn’t really walk the whole park. So we decided to come back and do it properly. Drumpellier Park is quite a busy place. You’re going to meet many people, especially during the weekend, but the park is massive, so it can easily take the crowd without feeling too cramped.
One thing noticed, though, is that some dog owners don’t really understand the concept of public space. They still leave dog poop on the ground, and they allow their dogs to wander really far away from them. Some even come very close to people who are just jogging. Not everyone likes that. I’ve said this over and over again: just because you love a particular animal doesn’t make it likeable to everyone. It’s just simple common sense. Parks have rules, and basic public space etiquette exists for a reason.

That said, we still enjoyed our walk around the park.
The park is big, and there was a beautiful garden that may not be part of it. There was also a house in front of the space, and everything was so well put together. Honestly, by the time we were making our way around, I couldn’t wait to get home because we had already visited Gartcosh Local Nature Reserve earlier that day.

Here are some beautiful pictures of Drumpellier Park; enjoy these lovely views. Nature really is something special, and we’re always in search of the calm it gives. I’ll always say this: make it a habit to spend time in nature when you can. The benefits are countless.

This is a beautiful park! Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI agree that dog owners should be responsible for their animals.
Dog owners really need to do better.
DeleteWhat a wonderful place. Thank you for the lovely photos. God bless.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome, Victor.
DeleteThe natural world always astounds. What a lovely place.

The natural world is such a beauty to connect with.
DeleteGreat to see, Melody. Both dressed for the occasion, nice and warm.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos of the swan, you did well.
Thank you Margaret. Sometimes my big jacket is what I need to enjoy my day out.
DeleteOh Melody. That last photo of how you captured the water is stunning. This is such a beautiful place to visit. Thank you for sharing it again with us.
ReplyDeleteI knew there was something special about that photo that made me stare at it for a few seconds. Thank you for confirming it!
DeleteThank you for the lovely photos 🥰🥰🥰.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome.
DeleteHello dear Melody, some photos in this serie, today, are really pieces of art. The whole shots are excellent. The nature, the water, the whole park, especially those birds. Everything is full of life and beauty.
ReplyDeleteI hope you to enjoy this kind of life.
Thank you so much, Giannis. I love watching Swans play in the water.
DeleteBeautiful photos. Really!
ReplyDeleteMelody, speaking of nature and animals, this morning I photographed a hare in the meadow in front of my house, across the street.
Melody, greetings to you!
Oh wow, that's a fantastic capture! I'm really looking forward to checking out your blog to see when you share the photo.
DeleteFantastic and incredible sequence of beautiful images.
ReplyDeleteAmazing park. I especially loved the photos with the swans.
Oh, everyone loves swans. That is so lovely, thank you.
DeleteLooks like a great park and a big one as you said. The photos of the swans are beautiful
ReplyDeleteI was exhausted from walking around the park, but I enjoyed every moment of it.
DeleteThis is a great park for a walk around. I enjoyed all the photos very much. Good to wrap up warmly on what looks like a cold day. My favorite birds here are the swans. I so rarely get to see them. Thank you for another great post and I hope you have a lovely ending to you week and a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, the best birds to interact with in Scotland are swans. They are such hungry friends, and I also love how their feathers are and even how they look. Such beautiful birds. I find them to be quite majestic creatures, and their gentle nature makes them wonderful to observe. Their graceful movements on the water are truly captivating.
DeleteWow... it looks like a little paradise. I understand very well that you enjoyed this walk. It must be wonderful during the year between the different seasons.
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend ahead. Greetings by Heidrun ❤️
I really enjoy the walk, and the area in between is a bird paradise, which I absolutely love. The kids also enjoy this place, as parents can relax and watch them play with the ducks, but always under supervision. It's such a wonderful spot for families to connect with nature and each other.
DeleteWonderful shots.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you find the shots wonderful! Thank you.
DeleteBeautiful photos. Not sure if I love the swan or the duck photos the most. Gill in Canada
ReplyDeleteI love both swans and ducks. When looking at a duck, I realize what stunning beauty it possesses; ducks are often overlooked when it comes to appreciating the beauty of birds.
Delete...that quite a gathering of Mute Swans!!!
ReplyDeleteThis sight is so beautiful; you could stare at it for hours, and it will leave you feeling even better.
DeleteWhutta wonderful place. Great set of pics of it too.
ReplyDeleteThank you; over time, we have mastered capturing beautiful nature and landscapes.
DeleteWhat a beautiful place! The swan photos are gorgeous too. Looks like it was a chilly visit.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mari. Swans possess a very definitive beauty.
Saludos.
Oh Thomas, it was a bit of a gamble, but a big jacket is always a good idea to have on hand. I had some respiratory symptoms and have since recovered, but I still didn't want to visit the park without a mask, especially since it was a rather busy day. Even so, it still felt like we had our own little world.
DeleteIt really is wonderful to return to a spot that you enjoy and find beautiful in so many ways. Some places are just to big to do in one day (or maybe even more) and you were so wise to enjoy a part of it more fully, and then return for this wonderful day. That blue sky and water say it all!
ReplyDeleteYes, DRUMPELLIER COUNTRY PARK is a vast expanse of natural beauty, and revisiting it allowed us to truly appreciate its diverse offerings and enjoy its amenities even more thoroughly. We spent the day exploring the picturesque woodlands and serene lochs. It's a place we highly recommend for anyone seeking a peaceful retreat and a chance to connect with nature.
Deletetoutes ces photos sont d'une incroyable qualité avec une très belle définition, et cet endroit quoique bien frisquet (mais bon c'est l'Ecosse) semble magnifique. C'est une fort belle excursion
ReplyDeleteThank you so much.
DeleteYou took some gorgeous photos, Melody. Today we went taking a walk at usual park and I stepped on some dog poops by accident..plastic bags for dog poops here are even attached to garbage bins in parks and kids' play places, but some owners just don't care.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, that is terrible. I hope these people learn to do better. It is disgusting. I hope you were still able to enjoy your walk.
DeleteMelody Dumpellier Counnnnntry Park does look like a large and interesting park to walk around! I could see it also looked chilly as you are all bundled up. I've always admired swans and I enjoyed your photos of them and the mallard ducks.
ReplyDeleteIt really is a lovely place to wander, plenty of space and little corners to explore. The swans do have a certain grace about them, don’t they? They seem to carry themselves with such calm confidence.
DeleteLovely photos Melody. Still not been there but I really must! Totally agree with you on the dogs, they really should be on a lead in a park and yeah they really need to get owners to pick up the poop too.
ReplyDeleteI took my daughter to Calderglen in East Kilbride during the Easter Holidays. Have you been there? It was really good and I'll make a post about it really soon. :-D
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed them. It’s definitely worth a visit when you get the chance, especially if you like a good wander. I checked Calderglen out; it looks like a nice place to visit. I’ve not been yet.
DeleteThanks for your visit in my blog
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome.
DeleteBoa noite minha querida amiga Melody.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind words, I’m glad you enjoyed the photos. It really is a lovely park to visit, very peaceful and well worth seeing if you ever have the chance.
DeleteWhat a wonderful and beautiful place. Thanks for sharing the beautiful photos you took, I enjoyed seeing them.
ReplyDeleteThank you, I’m so glad you enjoyed them.
DeleteUnes fotos fantàstiques amb una llum preciosa.
ReplyDeleteAferradetes, Melody.
Thank you so much.
DeleteIt is wonderful that you were able to spend some more time in Drumpellier Park. Since it is such a large place, some extra time there definitely sounds like it was needed! I do wish the dog owners would be more respectful and courteous. As you mentioned, not everyone wants an animal approaching them. I'm so glad you had a positive experience there. The pictures are just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, that’s very kind of you. It really does take a bit of time to appreciate it properly, there’s quite a lot to see if you wander at a steady pace. I agree with you, it’s just a matter of being considerate of others. Not everyone is comfortable around dogs, and it makes such a difference when people are mindful of that.
DeleteYou got some outstanding photos of the birds here. Gorgeous swans. Looks like a very pretty place to visit.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sharon.
DeleteYour photos are just stunning - what a magical place to visit. I just adore swans - they are such regal creatures. Thank you for your visit to my blog & your sweet, kind comment. 💙
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, that’s very kind of you to say. It really does have a bit of a magical feel to it, especially with the water and the wildlife.
DeleteThis is my kind of activity. What a beautiful place! I especially like the swans.
ReplyDeleteIt really is the sort of place that invites you to slow down a bit and just enjoy being outdoors.
Deletehi melody! thanks for leaving your comment at my little blog. i really appreciate it. this is my 1st time visiting your blog, and i fall in love with all your awesome pictures! my favourites are those with white swan ;) from your pictures, there are still not many flowers blooming in the park i guess, as I thought now it is spring time in countries with 4 seasons climate. anyway, it is humid and hot here in Malaysia, the typical tropical country climate. I'm travelling to europe next week for a worktrip, so I really look forward to have some lovely pictures there. anyway, the park that you visited is indeed nice!
ReplyDeleteHello, it’s so lovely to have you visit, and thank you. I’m really glad you enjoyed the photos, especially the swans, they were a highlight for me as well. You’re quite right, it is spring here, but it’s still a little early for everything to be in full bloom and these photos were taken in February. Some flowers are just starting to come through, but it will look quite different in a few weeks’ time when it’s properly underway.
DeleteLooks like a great place to get in some steps.
ReplyDeleteI also like that the way the park was designed feels very secure.
DeleteThe swans! They are so graceful, they just give off a very calm vibe. It does look chilly there, but that makes it nice for walking. Beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed walking around this location. Thank you.
DeleteStunning location.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Liz
DeleteBeautiful pictures! The birds are stunning!
ReplyDeletePeople really need to keep their dogs leashed in parks. Some park rules specify that the leash must be 6 feet or less.
Even though some people choose not to follow the rules, we still managed to have a lovely walk at the park.
DeleteMuy bella serie de imagenes de naturaleza. Las aves son preciosas.
ReplyDeleteSaludos
Thank you so much.
DeleteNice shots! It's amazing that you got to see animals up close!
ReplyDeletehttps://embracethepandemonium.wordpress.com/
Thank you, those birds are lovely.
DeleteBeautiful captures of the swans, mallards and the walking path!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Magiceye.
DeleteExcelente Post! O Parque Drumpellier é um portento de Natureza bem gerida. As tuas Fotos são de encantamento e vida a provar que assim é.
ReplyDeleteAdorei, Melody.
Beijo,
SOL da Esteva
Thank you so much.
DeleteUnfortunately there are some dog owners that really need to do better!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed seeing your photographs, amazing swans.
All the best Jan
They really need to do better.
DeleteIt is always a pleasure to visit your posts. There are several birds that I love to see. The swan is top of the list. They are elegant and stately in form . You have captured some of the best images I have ever seen of them. The mallard and mate are equally amazing. It is very apparent you love photographing the places you visit. Love that you share them with us.
ReplyDeleteHugs and Blessings
Thank you, that truly means a great deal. I’m so pleased you enjoyed the images.
DeleteThe swans really do have a quiet elegance about them, don’t they? They seem to bring a sense of calm just by being there. The mallards have their own charm as well, especially when you catch them together. I do enjoy taking photographs when I’m out and about, it’s a nice way of holding onto those moments and sharing them with others. I’m glad they bring you some enjoyment too.
Muy lindo lugar. Lleno de paz por lo que mostrás. Aunque algunas fotos donde aparecen algunas personas dan la imagen de series o pelícuas de misterio jaja. Saludos!
ReplyDeleteIt does have that quiet, steady atmosphere in most parts, especially when the paths are less busy. I see what you mean about the people in a few of the shots, the light and the trees can give things a slightly dramatic feel at times. It’s part of what makes wandering there interesting, you can get very different moods depending on the weather and the time of day. Glad you enjoyed it, and cheers to you as well.
DeleteEncantado com o Parque, em si, mas principalmente com o ballet gracioso, colorido e variado das aves aquáticas.
ReplyDeleteUm abençoado domingo, Melody.
That’s a lovely way to put it, and very true. There’s something almost rhythmic about the way the birds move across the water when you sit and watch for a while. I’m glad you enjoyed the park through the photos. Wishing you a peaceful and blessed Sunday as well.
DeleteYou certainly covered the park this trip. Gorgeous photos of the waterfowl, skies, and trails.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteAll the photos are beautiful, I enjoyed looking at them very much. I particularly liked the ones with birds, and my absolute favourite is the portrait of the swan. :)
ReplyDeleteThose are excellent photos! I'm thinking about uploading them to Pexels.
Deletei love the pictures of ducks and swans, either swimming or flying.
ReplyDeletethere are some parks in my city, but not as big and wild as the one you're showing us. anyway, parks are a shelter, a place where you can have some peace of mind for a while.
Thank you, Chema
DeleteMelody, simplesmente encabtador esse parque com esses cisnes, patos e tudo de maraviolhoso por lá! Adorei ver!
ReplyDeletebeijos, linda nova semana, chica
I'm so glad you enjoy these photos! It's always a pleasure to share them with you.
DeleteBeautiful photos! I am glad you enjoyed your return visit to Drumpellier Park.
ReplyDeleteYes, that was a much-needed visit! We didn't explore the park as much as we would have liked on our first visit, so this was the perfect opportunity. Thank you.
DeleteDear Melody!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a wonderful park and beautiful photos. I immediately fell in love with these beautiful birds and picturesque landscapes. Sending hugs and greetings from springtime Poland.
Thank you, Lucja.
DeleteWhat a beautiful space. Even though there seemed to be a lot of people around, it looked like you had the park to yourselves. The swan photos were amazing. Enjoy your week
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteHello Melody,
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice pictures. Great and very special to so many swans. So fantastic.
Great to see how you have photograph them so well.
Many greetings,
Marco
Thank you, Marco.
DeleteA wonderful park, a wonderful place.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos of waterfowl (I love swans), and yours too, very atmospheric and atmospheric.
I agree with you, dog owners should follow the rules everywhere, especially in places like this.
Best regards.
It is a major issue, and the habits of dog owners with their dogs can be really uncomfortable for others.
DeleteThe park is beautiful! It reminds me a little of our Otsiningo Park that I sometimes feature in my blog posts but yours is a lot bigger and we don't have swans in any of our local parks. Tufted ducks are not native to the United States and I always enjoy seeing pictures of the birds in the UK (especially the blue tit and European goldfinch. (We do have mallard ducks). I loved those swan, mallard duck and tufted duck closeups. I could spend many happy hours in this park and I thank you for the virtual visit.
ReplyDeleteI checked out Otsiningo Park, which is a beautiful park in Binghamton. I love the greenery, and it has the same vibe as Drumpellier Park, but it also reminds me of Dams to Darnley Country Park here in Scotland.
DeleteI loved the pictures best of the swans. You did a fantastic job! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm so glad that everyone enjoyed this post. It means a lot to me when you all find value in what I share.
DeleteAbsolutely poetic post and the swans are divine, so elegant, I adore them!!
ReplyDeleteHappy new week, dearest Melody!
Thank you for your kind words! I wish you a calm and peaceful week ahead.
DeleteI love your hike and the swans were beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sherry.
DeleteBonitas fotos da natureza!

I absolutely had a good time at this park.
DeleteDear Melody,
ReplyDeleteThat seems to be a really wonderful park to visit. Wonderful environment, nice birds and animals. It seems to be a lonesome place...but you wrote something different. But then they are great captures without the people LOL. Wonderful experience of nature.
Have a good time and all the best
Violetta
Amazing place and photos!
