I woke up this morning, swept the house, washed plates, and finally sat down with a cup of coffee and plantain. Before all of that though, I stood quietly by the window and let the morning sun touch my face for a bit, and it felt so good in that old-fashioned, grounding way. Now I am back in bed, warm and cozy, typing this out under the covers, and honestly that feels like a small luxury.
The photos you are seeing are not from this year. They were taken last year at Dean Castle Country Park on the 9th of November 2025, on our way to meet a friend and spend some time with her little one. If you have ever been there, you can picture it easily. Wide open paths, bare trees, soft cold air, and that calm feeling that comes just before winter truly settles in. It was one of those days where you want to be warm, comfortable, but still look put together without trying too hard.
Let us talk about winter style, because for me it always starts with warmth. I never compromise on being warm, no matter how nice an outfit looks. Jeans and black boots are my winter foundation, and they are pieces I rely on every single year. A good pair of jeans paired with solid black boots can carry you through the entire season if you style them right. Under this outfit, I wore a simple black long-sleeve top, and that single layer makes all the difference. It locks in warmth and allows me to enjoy being outside without constantly thinking about the cold.
This 3-button front pink jumper is from Primark, and yes, it’s already starting to pill and shed. Over here we call it a jumper, and I already knew this would happen because it is Primark. I genuinely do not care. I love the color, and sometimes that is enough. It looks nice, it feels soft, and it brings brightness into winter, which matters more than people admit. I might not be able to wear it after this winter, and that is fine. Clothes do not always have to last forever to be worth enjoying. I have paired this jumper with different jeans already, and each time it gives a slightly different mood while still keeping me warm.
Winter dressing does not mean dull colors only. Bright colors are important during the colder months, and pink especially has a way of lifting the mood when the days feel grey. Pink softens winter outfits and brings warmth without being loud. I find it makes everything feel more gentle and cheerful, even when the weather is not.
Now to the jeans, because denim always deserves its own moment. I styled these jeans first in this post on my blog, and if you remember that denim-on-denim look, you already know how versatile they are. The jeans are from Know Fashion Style, part of the Blue Loose Casual Pocket Button Up Round Neck Sleeveless Waisted Vest and Wide Leg Pants Denim Two Pieces Set. It is also available in black, which is good to know if you prefer darker tones. The material is cotton denim, the fit is regular with a high waist, wide-leg profile, and clean solid color finish. The details like the pockets and buttons give it structure while still keeping it casual. I am wearing a size that allows movement, warmth, and comfort, which is important in winter. Wide-leg jeans are especially great during colder months because they layer well and never feel restrictive.
The boots are one of my favorite parts of this outfit. My partner got them for me just before the peak of the cold months, and I have received so many compliments since. People really like them, especially the way I style them. They are Replay black lace-up boots with a slight wedge, and they are very warm. Sometimes they are so warm that I actually have to take them off. They feel solid, supportive, and well-made, and that is why investing in good winter shoes is always a smart decision. Winter is not the time to struggle with thin soles or uncomfortable footwear. A good boot will carry you through cold days, long walks, and busy weeks without stress.
Smartwatch: IOWODO W70Pro Smartwatch
Speaking of busy weeks, do you know I actually dress way cooler during the week. I just do not have the time to take photos because of work. Adult life really humbles you. I wish I could take photos of myself every day, but reality says otherwise, and that is fine. Style still exists even when the camera is not around.
Makeup-wise, I have learned to keep things simple. Powder is okay for me, and adding blush gives a softer, more subtle look that works well with winter outfits. It keeps the face fresh without looking heavy, and it matches the relaxed, practical approach I take with my clothes.
Overall, this look is about balance. Jeans that fit well, boots that keep you warm, layers that protect you from the cold, and colors that lift your mood. Fashion does not have to be uncomfortable or complicated. It can be practical, warm, and still feel very it-girl when done with intention.
How is everyone doing lately. What colors of jumpers or sweaters are you loving this winter. Do you lean towards bright shades like pink, or do you prefer neutrals when the weather gets cold. Let me know, because I always enjoy hearing how everyone else styles their winter days.

Hi Melody. I'm not a pink kind a gal. Never have been. Pink sure looks beautiful on you. Those pants are to live for. I would wear those for sure. Have a nice day today.
ReplyDeleteThat’s so kind of you, thank you. I’m glad you liked the look, and I hope you have a lovely day too.
DeleteMelody, thank you for sharing the art of style on Sunday in the Art Room SITAR. I think people forget that knowing how to select apparel and making it fashionable is an art form. Also me being a shoe hoarder, I love the boots. I have a pair similar to these and with the denim paints they are gorgeous. Thank you for sharing your talent with SITAR. Have a lovely day.
DeleteI would look awful in pink, but absolutely gorgeous in you, Melody.
ReplyDeleteThat’s kind of you to say, thank you very much.
Deletenothing better than a warm jumper for cold winters. that pink one is very nice.
ReplyDeleteThank you, I agree. A warm jumper is always the best choice in winter, and I’m glad you liked this one.
DeleteLindo sueter e look invernal! Beçpas fotos! beijos, tudo de bom, chica
ReplyDeleteThank you, so much.
DeleteNice outfit -Christine cmlk79.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteI love these color! Pink is amazing :) You look beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much.
DeleteAnche io in inverno amo stare al caldo e questo si rispecchia molto anche nel modo di vestire.
ReplyDeleteQuesto outfit è veramente molto bello e ti sta d'incanto
I mean, the only way to enjoy winter is by staying warm, because I really don't think "enjoy" is the right word for cold weather. But if you want to look stylish and be comfortable in winter, it's just good to layer properly. Thank you, Stefania.
DeleteIt's a great style Melody :-D
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Anaka.
DeleteThat pink sweater really suits you, Melody. I also like your black boots.
ReplyDeleteWe have rainy weather this weekend.
Have a lovely Sunday ☁⛅☁
Thank you so much. I love the sweater although it's from Primark and it's already shedding, but it's actually a pretty color.
DeleteHello
ReplyDeleteI love the pink sweater and the jeans! Cute outfit and lovely photos.
Take care, have a great weekend.
Thank you so much; I'm wishing you a beautiful joyful Sunday.
DeleteI like the pink jumper, not that keen on the black boots look too bulky for me but that jumper is so pretty
ReplyDeleteI can understand why you think that the black boots are a bit bulky, and they are, but I like to try different shoe styles and they give different vibes to my outfit. Thank you.
DeleteNice style, Melody. You look fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI appreciate it, Bill.
DeleteMelody, you are a beautiful girl!
ReplyDeleteOh dear, that means so much to me. Thank you so much; I appreciate it.
DeleteLindo saco. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteI love some color in the winter. But it's so cold at my house that I need a heavy jacket, a hat, mittens scarf...I love we can now find brighter winter coats...stay warm and I must say you look great in that pink sweater. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteHi Erika,
DeleteI used to deny that I love pink. I really don't know why. It was kind of a silenced denial. But pink looks good on me, and thank you so much for saying that.
I'm looking forward to a cozy Sunday. Plus, I should get a cute hat. I think I have a cute winter hat if I'm not mistaken. But I'm not sure if my Afro hair, which I'm carrying right now, would enter the hat. So I think I will improvise something. But I should be warm today.
靴子很堅固,也保暖.
ReplyDeleteThe boots are one of my best gifts from last year and they are really warm. Thank you
DeleteAmiga Melody, boa noite de sábado!
ReplyDeleteJustamente tenho tomado café da manhã com banana da terra diariamente. É um luxo... a cama matinal é uma delícia.
O tom da sua blusa está lindo demais.
A maquigem discreta me agrada muito.
Eu sempre prefiro tons terras...
Tenha um final de semana abençoado!
Beijinhos fraternos
Thank you; that’s very kind of you. Plantain for breakfast is always a lovely treat, and I’m glad you enjoyed the color and the simple makeup. Earth tones have always held a special place in my heart.
DeleteJeans are my go-to as well in winter, but I usually pair with a black shirt and a sweater (jumper to you) or heavy shirt.
ReplyDeleteYou look so beautiful in these photos!
Oh yes, they are also my go-to during the winter, but here is the trick: I prefer jeans that are not skinny, but rather loose-fitting ones that allow me to layer or wear thermal wear underneath. Skinny jeans don't fit with that, so I love to wear free jeans; they are actually warmer and uncooler during the winter period, especially when they're styled well. Thank you, Granny Sue.

Love the pink jumper. 🧡🧡🧡
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty touch with the jeans and boots.
Pink is such a beautiful color; thank you.
DeleteSuch a pretty pink Melody, suits your colouring well.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that pink suits me. I agree; I see that, especially when I'm wearing bright pink, it looks really good. thank you.
Carlos
ReplyDeleteThank you; that’s very kind of you to say. I agree, winter doesn’t have to feel dull at all. A touch of color can lift the mood, even on the coldest days, and it’s nice to relax a little and enjoy the season for what it is.
DeleteGood morning 🌷 dear Melody. I'm standing in front of the wardrobe right now...
ReplyDelete...and your outfit looks casual, by the way. You look very pretty in the pictures, like a model!
Yes, it has to be a thick jumper when the temperature is below freezing, and my thermal tights serve the same purpose. I'm cold! I admit it openly.
Good morning, thank you so much for your kind words. I know that feeling well, standing in front of the wardrobe and trying to stay warm. A thick jumper and thermal tights are simply the sensible choice in this weather. Staying warm always comes first. I hope you found something comfortable and have a cozy, pleasant day.
DeleteDear Melody, the pink sweater, the blue jeans and the black boots are all wonderful. It is the ultimate outfit for the cold days of winter. I would be very happy if you visited my personal blog ''Travel in literature''. Kisses from Greece.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, that’s very kind of you. I’m glad you liked the outfit.
DeleteBom dia, Melody
ReplyDeleteSeu look está maravilhoso; o suéter rosa é lindo. Belas fotos! É gratificante tomar um café na calmaria da manhã e no aconchego do lar. Um forte abraço.
Good morning, and thank you so much. I’m glad you enjoyed the outfit and the photos. There’s something truly special about a quiet morning with coffee.
DeleteI once bought at Primark. One washing and the thing was done, a jumper, btw cause my actual jumper shared my lunch and I had a conference soon after, so Primark it was....
ReplyDeleteI wear PJs under my jeans these days. Oh, thank you! Mascara and eye-liner need to get packed! On holiday I want to look a bit nice (I work from home and nobody sees me).
I love my "Gurri". I did not name the coat, the company did. I bought "her" 2018 and since then she makes people smile. She is red with white dots and people really stop on their bicycle to turn and give a smile, gram by arm to stop me and give me a smile or shout, "you bring me luck!".
I hat winter, but Gurri is my highlight.
Bet with your outfit you get compliments, too, you look great.
This made me smile. Primark really does have a talent for dramatic one-wash farewells, but in an emergency it has saved many a day, conference included. Thank you for the kind words about my outfit. Compliments are always lovely, especially when they come from someone who clearly knows how much joy a good coat can bring.
ReplyDeleteSaludos.
I know what you mean, muted colors can be so versatile, and a soft pink can still feel cheerful without being too bold.
DeleteLayers and warm feet are essential.
ReplyDeleteVery important.
Thank you, that’s so kind of you to say. I completely agree, there’s something about winter layers and soft sunlight that makes everything feel cozier and more elegant.
DeleteGreat style and colours.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Thank you, Victor.
DeleteI live in South Florida so our "winter" is very mild. We have a day now and then that will go to the high 50's early in the morning but our winters are mostly around 70 degrees. At night we might put on a sweater and I do love pink. Your outfit looks attractive as well as practical for your cold weather.
ReplyDeleteI can see why a light sweater works perfectly there. Happy Sunday.
DeleteTres chic my friend. May your day be as blessed as you are. You are a gem.
ReplyDeletersrue.blogspot.com
That is very kind of you, thank you. I will take those wishes with me through the day.
DeleteYou are looking nice in this style Melody.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Caroline.
Delete...stay warm and well.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much.
DeleteGood boots are a must in winter :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much.
DeleteHi Melody :)
ReplyDeleteA really pretty sweater – the style and color. I also have pink things in my wardrobe. I like bright colors. My friend, you wrote about jeans. I like jeans too; I have black and blue jeans in various shades.
Melody, I send you greetings!!!!!
Bright colors have always had their place. Pink especially has a warmth to it that never really goes out of style, no matter what trends say. It is good to hear you keep them in your wardrobe. Jeans are much the same. Black, blue, light or dark, they have earned their reputation over time. They are dependable, honest clothes, and they age well with the person wearing them.
DeleteLove the outfit! I need to get some wider jeans! xx
ReplyDeleteDanielle’s Beauty Blog
Thank you, that is kind of you. Wider jeans are a good choice. They have a timeless feel to them, comfortable and confident, and they suit far more outfits than people expect. Fashion comes and goes, but cuts like that have a way of returning because they simply work.
DeleteBoa noite Melody. Seu look ficou muito interessante. Aqui no Rio de Janeiro estamos no verão. Tenho certeza que seu look, faria muito sucesso no Brasil.
ReplyDeleteDeus te abençoe e dê um bom início de semana.
Rio in summer sounds wonderful. I can well imagine that a bold outfit feels right at home there. Style has always travelled better than we think.
DeleteThat looks very comfortable.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mary.
DeleteThat sweater is fantastic, Melody. I love that color -- one of my favorites to wear but it's pretty hard to find that color here. I'd buy 10! It's a great style. I hear you about Primark for some clothes (though we don't have these here). There are classic things you get because you know you want them to last a very long time. And things that you know will last a year or two (or maybe more) but the price is right and when it goes, you can part with it a bit more easily because it lived out it's purpose. I have the "Pennies Per Wear" idea. I wear my tennies every day -- so I'll pay more for them (I'm probably down to under a fraction of a cent!). Clothes I bought for Kevin's wedding were essential but MANY pennies (Dollars!) per wear. But worth it. LOVE that sweater!
ReplyDeleteRight?! It’s so hard to find this specific shade sometimes. I'm with you. I definitely invest more in the shoes I walk in every day than the trendy pieces. So glad you like the style.
DeleteExcellent outfit for midseason, and you look good in it. I prefer comfortable clothes and footwear in any season, that's my style. It was -12 today in Peterburg, so warm jeans, a blue sweater and a light furcoat were my choice. There's a picture in my the post just published. Stay warm and safe, Melody.
ReplyDeleteThank you, that means a lot. Comfort is a wise choice in any season. People used to dress first for the weather and their day, and style naturally followed.
Delete-12 is no small thing. I hope you stayed well wrapped and comfortable. I will look for the picture; it is always nice to see how people make warmth and personal style work together. Thank you for the kind wishes. Stay warm and safe as well.
U nas też ostatnio biało i dokucza mróz. Trzeba się ciepło ubierać. W zeszłym tygodniu zmarzłam na spacerze, bo wiało, a ja poszłam trochę do lasu pochodzić. Było pięknie i cicho, spokojnie i to tyle plusów. Niestety na następny dzień już dostałam grypę. Różowy sweterek do jasnych dżinsów bardzo pasuje. Piękny zestaw skomponowałas. Tobie akurat pasuje różowy mi średnio. Włosy mam koloru czerwonego jak syrenka Arielka, dosłownie :) Ściskam Cię najmocniej
ReplyDeleteOh no! I’m so sorry you caught the flu; hopefully you're feeling much better now! The forest walk sounds dreamy, even if it was freezing. And wow, Ariel with red hair? I’m officially jealous. Sending big hugs back.
DeleteNice boots, stay warm
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking to SundaySmiles
Here in T&T🇹🇹 the Dry Season has been announced, but were are having sooo much rain, its crazy
🎇much love
I hope things settle soon for you in T and T, and that the days ahead bring a bit more balance, and plenty of smiles.
Deletehi melody! i tend to wear bright colours in summer. in winter i wear blue jeans and hoodies, in colours such as dark blue, grey... but warm colours look beautiful in you, no matter what time of the year we're in.
ReplyDeletehere where i live, when spring comes, we joke about how we replace boots or sneakers with flipflops, with almost no transition. :)
The way I see fashion, I don’t really assign colors to specific seasons or weather. For me, it’s more about being comfortable and staying warm in winter, and then wearing lighter, breathable fabrics that suit you in summer. That’s what matters most to me. My style isn’t really ruled by color rules. Colors can come into play depending on the occasion or the situation, of course, but they’re not the main focus for me.
DeleteI actually prefer wearing color in winter. Color really lifts your mood and boosts your mental space. Whenever I wear bright or interesting colors, it genuinely makes me feel happier. Colors have that effect, they bring warmth and joy, even on cold, gloomy days. That’s why I don’t feel the need to limit myself to dark or neutral tones just because it’s winter.
I'm not a pink wearer either but do like to create with it... now boots I could wear all year long!! Happy create week..
ReplyDeleteAs I understand, not everyone loves wearing pink, so that is understandable. Yeah, boots are really cool, especially when you get one that you can wear all year round.
DeleteReally looks good on you. But with jeans you can´t do anything wrong...mostly LOL. This pink is a nice colour on you. The most important thing with outfits is to feel comfortable.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind visit to my blog.
Have a good time and all the best
Violetta
I know that some people can wear anything, whether it’s comfortable for them or not. I’m not that kind of person. If what I’m wearing isn’t comfortable, then I’m not okay. I’m not willing to put myself through discomfort just to look a certain way or to fit someone else’s idea of looking good. People say “beauty is pain,” but for me, beauty is not pain at all. Beauty is about expressing yourself in a comfortable way, in a way that feels right to you, and in a nice, modest manner.
DeleteComfort will always be part of my personal style. It’s not something I’m willing to give up. And thank you so much for this comment, I really appreciate it. It’s so important for outfits to feel comfortable, especially during winter, when you’re already dealing with the cold and trying to get to work. You really do need to stay comfortable just to get through the day.
I'm not a big fan of pink but this shade is perfect on you and the outfit is lovely
ReplyDeleteThank you, so much Jules.
DeleteMuito bem!
ReplyDeleteNo frio Inverno há que mantermo-nos quentes e confortáveis!
Beijinhos e boa semana!
We really need to stay warm. The other night, I went out briefly to a gathering, and I saw some ladies wearing very short skirts, no leggings, no tights, and high heels. Their legs were completely exposed. They were wearing a top and only a very light jacket. I understand that people love fashion, and some move around by car, so they might not feel the cold as much. But in this case, that didn’t seem to apply, because I saw them coming out of the train station. I was there waiting for my partner to pick me up.
DeleteWhat struck me was how cold it actually was that day. I had layered my outfit carefully, wearing very warm thermal wear and two layers of shirts, and I was still extremely cold. That made me wonder how they weren’t freezing. I thought maybe they were heading to a nice club, and that’s why they didn’t think it was necessary to dress warmly. I really don’t know.
From where I stood, behind the transparent glass, I could see people walking toward the nightclub area. I couldn’t understand why anyone would choose to expose their body and risk their health in such cold weather. Summer is coming, and there will be plenty of time to dress lightly, but gambling with one’s health in the name of fashion is something I personally don’t agree with. Still, I wish them peace, and I hope they pursue what makes them happy.
I love that shade of pink, I totally agree we need to be cozy and warm in the winter, so nice to be in a nice warm sweater for sure!
ReplyDeletePink is such a beautiful color, especially this shade of pink I'm wearing. I think it suits me so well. I think I should also keep the shade in mind when I'm buying anything. I feel like one of the best things that can happen to anyone is to understand that winter is not just a season but a time to protect yourself and your health. If you fail to protect yourself during the winter period, you may fall ill during the summer period. Thank you so much.
DeleteIt's nice meeting you, Melody! I appreciate your recent visit at Curious as a Cathy. Blogging is an enjoyable platform. It sounds like you have great fun for someone quite young. I can say that because I'm a wee bit older than you. lol Age is just number mostly. We need to make the most of each day no matter where we are in life. Be happy and blessed!
ReplyDeleteI suspect you may spend more time thinking about what to wear to the shops than I would going to a wedding! I have a style, but nobody wants to see it!!
ReplyDeleteHope all is well.
Cheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
Oh dear, I really don’t think it’s about constantly thinking about what to wear. It’s mostly about buying pieces that suit your personal style and work well with what you wear every day. For example, having a really nice pair of denim that fits you well can make a big difference, because it can be worn with many types of shirts, tops, blouses, or polos. Style isn’t about overthinking things; it’s more about building a wardrobe that’s comfortable, easy to mix and match, and helps you look good without much effort.
DeleteIf you choose something very colorful and want to pair it with many different items, that’s possible, but it does make things a bit harder than sticking with simple pieces, like blue jeans with a red, blue, or white top. Those basics tend to make everyday dressing much easier. I’m just sharing my thoughts. How are you?
You look beautiful in pink ;) I did a color analysis this year and I'm a "soft summer." I thought I was a "soft autumn." It got me thinking, and I'm changing my wardrobe. I don't have many sweaters because I mainly wear shirts for work ;)
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day!
Angelika
Hi Angela, how are you doing today? I've never done a color analysis, and I don't know if I want to do one. I think I already understand my tone. I firmly believe that light colors complement my skin tone, but a color analysis could potentially provide additional insights. I wear sweaters to work. I also wear shirts underneath my sweater. I mean, I feel like sweaters in the winter are just the best. They just make everything much easier.
DeleteI like the colour pink and funnily enough am wearing one of my favourite pink jumpers today :)
ReplyDeleteYou look great in all the photographs and pink suits you.
All the best Jan
I would really love to see your favorite jumper. I bet it looks really nice on you! I'm heading over to your blog now to check if you made any posts.
DeleteThese are gorgeous photos of you, Melody! A very relaxed winter look that suits you perfectly.
ReplyDeleteAnd something else caught my attention – your breakfast! I fell in love with plantain in Jamaica, and you've now given me a serious craving for it 😅
All the best ❄️☃️, Traude
https://rostrose.blogspot.com/2026/01/reisebericht-2025-drei-parks-am.html
Yes, I actually love the way the photo captured the sun heating my skin to a pink color. The light denim, flared pants look really nice. The whole picture came out so well. And yes, I love eating plantains. We have plantains in my country and they're a part of our food. We eat plantains a lot. They're actually very healthy, especially if you're looking to get a little iron. You can get it from the unripe ones. So plantains are really good.
DeleteThe color of the jumper is beautiful on you. I like the jeans with it.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much.
