Brittany Griner, a WBNA All-Star and Olympic gold medallist, has been arrested in Russia on drug accusations. She was recently arrested by the Russian Federal Customs Service after vape cartridges containing hashish oil, a chemical derived from cannabis, were discovered in her luggage.

Although Griner's arrest was announced on Saturday morning, the alleged event occurred in February. The Customs Service published a video of a traveller who looks to be Griner going through security and an officer extracting an item from the traveller's bag.

Brittany's wife, Cherelle Griner, revealed in an Instagram post on Saturday that officials are still attempting to bring her home.

Griner faces a maximum sentence of ten years in jail.
